SAVANNAH GA LOCAL INFO NEEDED

Any local marina recommendations in the Savannah area would be appreciated.

What destinations are in the area by for day trips or stay over for a few days by boat?

Savannah is a shipping port. As a result the prime riverfront social district is set up more to move large ships through rather than to accommodate recreational boaters. There are no marinas along the Savannah River. There are marinas in Thunderbolt just a few miles down the ICW. For transients, you could stay there and just UBER to the riverfront and town, or to the beaches of Tybee Island.

We are at Savannah Bend marina in Thunderbolt, have been there for a year. Very down to earth folks, nothin fancy. But good folks, can't say enough good things.
Definitely not your high end like Thunderbolt Marina is, but I like it, comfortable and quiet. I can do most anything to the office with no issues. Discounted fuel for customers. I'm heading back down Thurs for a few days. Time to renew our annual, advance payment discount for that too.

We've stayed briefly at Thunderbolt Marina several times over the years, good. This year, they didn't have room, so we stayed one night at Bahia Bleu. Decent. Both within walking distance of Tubby's.

Other folks we know have stayed at Isle of Hope Marina, and they said decent... but nothing much else there.

In all of these cases, courtesy car or Uber/Lyft to downtown/riverfront is easy. We looked at docking possibilities along the Savannah riverfront; didn't look great, probably lots of rocking, guessing expensive at the hotel docks, etc.

Check out The Landings, they have two marinas with slip rentals. The Westin Savannah harbor also offers slips for $3/foot. You are right on the side of a commercial shipping lane so be prepared for some wakes there...
