I've always replaced the zinc's at the start of every boating season in the usual locations, but now i'm hearing that SeaRay does not recommend shaft zinc's, is this true and if so would it be all year's and models?

Under the heading of "this is what I did".....my boat came with shaft anodes when we bought her in 2016. At a subsequent haul out, after reading either on Club Sea Ray or perhaps THT, I made the decision to remove them. Why? Because they are bolted on the shafts, and it is where the bolt holes are is the thinnest part of the anode. IF they were to corrode through and slide down the shaft, it would impeded water flow (cooling) through the cutlass bearing.

In my heart, I sense that this is sort of like a Ford vs Chevy arguement. No real right or wrong answer, but there are deep set opinions on both sides.
