The way to win an election is to convince more voters that they should vote for you, than the other guy can convince should vote for them. That is why Biden won.

So the GOP needs to convince enough voters to care enough and believe in them to vote for them. But you still need to do better than the other guy at convincing voters. If the GOP doesn't, they will lose again.

I hope that doesn't happen. I hope that the GOP finds a way to win in 2024.

And how can it not make sense? There is an entire voting process that is considered to be the best in the world in the USA. You really think that those stupid Democrats could pull off the heist of the century in plain sight, cheating the best voting process in the free world, and were so good that they didn't leave a crumb of evidence for rabid, mouth frothing investigators to find? Really? Well if they pulled that off, I am impressed. And you are doomed. I think next they may start "disappearing" republicans without a trace. But the QAnon will figure that out, unless.........

I just had a great idea for the 28th amendment. It will called the "Do-over option".
If they don't like the outcome, a party would be free to call a "do-over" of a presidential election and have a complete re-vote, and there would be increased scrutiny, even more than normal. But if they lose again in the do-over, the winner gets an extra 2 year term extension.

Now that is pretty silly. But I wonder what the GOP would decide, if it was there today?

it sucks to live in a Democracy when your party loses. But the alternative to democracy sucks more. It sucked for me when Trudeau won here last time. Still does. But the way to change it is by conversation to convince those in the middle to your views. Rational discussion not name calling and doomsday talk.

Your assuming people voted for Biden’s policies which he didn’t articulate during the campaign vs voting against Trump because he was an ahole. Trump’s policies are actually reasonably popular.

How about we just adopt voter id, legitimate absentee ballots rules, and count them in plain site with audit trails available it audit.

Some of his policies were popular, but not all and not enough.

What Trump could not do is convince anyone that disagreed with his views to come over to his side. He is a my way or the highway kind of guy. An autocrat businessman. That may work in business where you can fire everyone that disagrees with you.

If you try to lead like that, you get mostly two types of followers. You get the ones that already agreed with you. And you get those that are so self serving that they suck up and keep their mouth shut even if they disagree, because of fear. And Trump couldn't fire voters.

So in the end, it doesn't matter. He is back to running the Trump empire, not the country. And the GOP has to sort out if they will hitch their wagons to him again. I highly doubt it. But they can't lose his base, so they will slowly distance themselves until Trump realizes he doesn't have the support of the GOP anymore and tells his base he is out. But his endorsement of his GOP successor is "the precious" that they will all try to figure out how to get. It should be interesting to watch.

No, we can’t do any of that. Plus, state executive branches can now change the voting rules at any time with the endorsement of activist state judges. Damn the Constitution. It was written by a bunch of old racist white guys anyway. Not only that, it lives and breathes.o_O
