^ Those that have no stake in the game are the ones that got him elected. Take away the ones that don't own anything, thus pay no taxes, don't have jobs, thus don't pay taxes, then we would have had a different outcome. Funny how those that contribute nothing are now going to control those that do

I think you got it backwards. As measured by GDP, Biden-voting counties vastly outweighed Trump-voting counties:

This continues a trend; Clinton also won by county GDP, but a little less so than Biden.

Joe six pack working stiffs who have been priced out of the cities and are more rural.

This covers economic output, so it follows that income taxes follow on a similar pattern. I had read in the past that blue state tax revenues subsidized the red states, but never realized the extent was so great.

Ok

I don’t think this article is right , all the cities and suburbs have the highest level of government assistance ,section 8 housing, housing projects so why wouldn’t the monetary aspect of those counties read exactly that way? It doesn’t mean that all the
White collar working class voted blue, that makes no sense . the majority of the GDP by city or county makes total sense when you have wealthy people spending it and government backed people spending it freely knowing that Government check is coming next week . In the rural areas these people are just trying to pay their bills there is no discretionary spending. So high concentrations of blue voters which are the lower class are in all of those areas Make up a huge number of those votes which also happens to be in high GDP areas isn’t that common sense? You don’t see big housing projects in Iowa . Section 8 housing is only been around since the 70s so 40+ years later they have spread out into the suburbs people are now renting their homes and getting paid via section 8 who do you think those people are voting for? And Trump did far better than that article suggests in the cities and suburbs

I think you’re limiting your focus on the wrong stats. Yes, urban areas have high concentrations of unemployment, but there are also concentrations of not just wealthy, but well to do. Urban areas also tend to be homes of corporate offices and headquarters, banking and finance centers, universities and scientific centers, and cultural centers. And because of the concentration of people urban areas also tend to have higher concentrations of medical centers.

This data highlights the disparity in employment. What will be interesting is how this looks again in four years. With remote working and learning on the increase and likely to stay after the pandemic, will more of the now red rural areas shift blue?

Interesting last few posts, but what the hell does it have to do with whether or not you will take the vaccine? Its been very interesting to see the total cluster F... getting the shots actually dispensed. The scope of the task is enormous but with almost a year to plan for an eventual mass vaccination program the state officials should all resign in shame. But all will be well after tomorrow. Joe will be at the helm and his super hero administration will shine through and prove how ineffective the Trump show was.... Right! I am actually relatively impressed and very happy that my in laws, both in their late 70s received their first doses yesterday. Now I don't have to listen to the bitching at least until they get screwed on getting their second shot because Biden plans on using up those allocated doses:confused:

A couple of small points. Reports we’ve been getting in Mass from the daily briefings from our Governor are that the Feds are being inconsistent with information on vaccine availability and notices of upcoming shipments are coming only just before happening. That in turn is complicating distribution within the state.

It turns out now there is currently no federal stockpile of vaccine, so your point is moot. In addition the Administration has made it a part of their plan to invoke the Defense Production Act to increase the flow of vaccine.

The American dream that I grew up knowing is dead , wanting to come to this country and stake your own claim on your own piece of property, start your own business is no longer pushed .the rural areas are the last of those ideas and small-town mentality , mom and pop shops are a dying breed. The last 30 years all the major cities have been flooded by people seeking government assistance and receiving it. it’s like a virus model ,this country is being overwhelmed by a blue virus and the red blood cells cannot fight it off forever. Eventually without help the red rural areas will have to flip .The fact that this article wants to layer GDP statistics and correlate that with a political layer is nothing new My opinion is that it has always been the same .there are just that many more of them now. Living 12 miles away from the economic universe of the Of the world I see two major groups .....really really rich and really really poor now the rest of this country ‘s major cities are catching up to New York ...and that’s all

My point exactly. The middle class get cut out. In PA we have 67 counties and about 55-60 of those are red (off the top of my head) but the 2 largest counties in the state get to decide who wins the elections. Those 2 counties are made up of both the wealthiest and the poorest voters in the state. The middle class gets no say. So why should a person that pays no taxes, earns no income, and contributes 0 in return for living off of the taxes paid by the middle class have more say in who gets elected?

Buddy Brown says it best here >

Walk in to Microsofts board meeting and tell them you want them to make changes. Bill Gates asks you how many shares you own. You tell him 0. What do you think he will tell you to do?

Illinois is the same way. The Chicago area and East St. Louis are blue and the rest of the state is red. Guess who wins?

Slept through Civics and American History classes in high school, did you? Let me refresh your memory.

How can someone who does not pay taxes, has no income, and owns no property vote? Because the US Constitution does not require an aptitude test, or property ownership, or income, or even to pay taxes in order to vote. The only requirement is to have been born in the US, or to US citizen parents while abroad, or be a naturalized US citizen. It is also settled law. This is in part why crafting language for a Voting ID is difficult. For somebody who is quite vocal about his rights you seem to be willing to deny other Americans their rights because of their economic circumstances

Do I really need to explain why a company can exclude a non-owner from an owners only activity? You do get the difference don't you?
