Looking into getting a 400 410 dance or 440 express bridge most likely cats.
Which one and why? Family of 4 looking to get back into long distance trips. (2 weeks or so) mid to late 90's vintage. Known problems (coring water intrusion electrical under power ect) and go

Jonathan - long time no see! Family of 4? thats great - Paisley must be getting old! A lot of 400/410 da guys on here - as far as the EB goes, im pretty sure that is on the 450DA hull and a lot more boat than the 400/410.....cant wait to see what you end up with!

Yep she's big and mean and scary. Typical 6 year old. Lol.
More boat more insurance bigger payment bigger docking bills. The 400 is where in leaning just throwing out options to try and convince myself to go bigger

Absolutely love our 410 but were a small family of 3.

the EB is a really cool boat and I did look for them for a bit but had no luck in our area or within my shipping radius. We decided the DA was a better fit for the way we boat. We do a few long trips a year and spend most Thursday-Mondays on the boat and the 410 did us well for the half season we were able to put in last summer. Huge jump from our 290 of course.

if the DA is your choice, I’m sure I won’t be the last to recommend you look at @fwebster ’s 450

I am all to familiar with Websters boat and knowledge been reading his posts for years. Found a few 450's in my price range but I don't know if the extra 5ft is worth all the extra expenses when it comes to weekend marinas which in at every weekend of the summer. 150+extra every weekend adds up. No extra stateroom .

makes sense, that was part of our decision as well. There was a 510 within reach but it meant a significant change in our home port and difficulty around where we boat - finding transient slips, pulling into restaraunts, etc. The 410 is the sweet spot for us right now

Well well, look who found his password. Go big johnathan!!!!!!
I have a dinghy with a 30honda on it for sale just sayin

Literally took me a half hour to reset it. First had to figure out my password for my old email(had to reset that) then do csr password rest. But anyway yep hydraulic platform is one of my wants but finding a 400 of the vintage i can "afford " with one is pretty tricky lol. I'll prob end up putting one on in a year or so since this will probably be my last jump up till retirement age.

We have a 99 450EB with three staterooms and love the boat. We originally looked for boats under 40' but found the EB and the layout for us and our adult kids was perfect. As far as marina expense, although it is 45' on the hull, it is 51' LOA. We tried to get it in a 45' slip and it was too long. The slip rate here on the West Coast is about $100 more per month jumping from a 40' to a 50' space.

So when you go to marinas on trips do you tell them 45 or 51? You don't have to answer that lol. So I have a question for you. What is your actual beam. I currently have a slip that I plan on keeping. I'm aloud up to 50ft so I'm not worried about that but I have 14ft 6 inches between my pole. Tight? Yes. But will it actually fit. Paperwork says 13ft 11 inches for the beam is this accurate with the rub rail at its widest point?
Also have some performance questions. What motors do you have and what's your cruise and burn? Wet ride in with seas or die it throw the water to the side?

As far as what I say on the length, plastered on the side in Sea Ray cursive lettering is "Four Fifty" so it must be 45'. :)

The actual beam is 14'7" on my USCG paperwork and from every site I have seen. My slip is 50' by 16' and it fits nicely.

As far as performance, I have the 420hp Cat 3126s. Cruises at 2200 rpm and 19 knots. The burn rate is between 20 and 22 gallons per hour depending on the seas. I have only had it in 5ft seas and it wasn't a wet ride at all. I think the DA hull cuts through the chop nicely.

14 7! No way.... wait your 450? The one im looking at is a 440. Hopefully there's a big difference. I really love my slip

I just checked the archives your 14 8
The 44 is 13 11
So if you are looking at a 44EB (I believe production ended in 97 or 98) if it has Cats, your burn rate should be better with the smaller displacement engines and lower horse power.

I love my EB. I've had it 6 years now and it has the 2 staterooms. Here are the specs for the 450.
