No ladder either so I step on the corner of the holding tank. The older I get the harder it gets so I'm planning on having a ladder fabricated at some point.

Thanks QT. I'm using a two-step step-ladder from Home Depot. It works for me pretty well and I can fold it up and set it out of the way once I'm in the engine compartment. I might just stick with that.

For any of you that have replaced the original subzero fridge and freezer with the vitrifrigo drawers, are you happy with the Vitrifrigo? Anything you would do different? Did you go with the Surface mount DW180s? I see early posts where some used Summit (A/C power only). I like the idea that if when shore power goes out the Vitrifrigo would keep running on D/C power and not ruin the contents. Is the switchover automatic? Thanks for any responses.

Next person at their boat, would you please look at the cranking batteries' cover (dual 8Ds on a 2004 480DB) and see if there is a manufacturer name and/or part number? I got an entire battery box, but it's not going to go in without some curse words, would prefer to just source another cover/lid. Thanks

I used summits the inverter powers them when on the hook no problem
I’d like the drawers but where significantly more money. I have a vitrifrigo ice maker and ordered a vitrifrigo drawer fridge for the bridge I’m happy with the ice maker for 2 years now.

I went with the Viti Ice maker and took a chance on the 12volt version. I love it. I have it wired directly to the "always on" buss with a breaker. This way when I leave the boat and shut off the batteries everything is off but the ice maker and pumps. When I leave the dock it keeps making ice with no need for inverter or gene running.

Just got word from my broker and finance that we closed the deal... Now I got to get her home.

Now I just gotta hope that these props still look like this once I get home. I'll be bringing her home after Christmas from Charleston and really concerned about shoaling along the intracoastal. Any tips for getting the latest info along the way? I'll be using Navionics on an iPad for my route planning and primary charting.

Congrats on the new boat! My new boat is also in Charleston - I’m working on getting it north as well. More likely by truck at this point though.

Finally got her back yesterday after two weeks. As close to new as you can get, again. LOL. Staying on top of the maintenance is a full time job.

Where did you put the Vitrifrigo ice maker? I liked the Summit drawers, but need an Icemaker in the galley.

Congrats. I’ve seen that boat around these parts several times.
