My windshield has been leaking on occasion, through the screws that hold it to the deck. The PO used generous amounts of silicone to "help" the situation, with no avail. The Vinyl Screw Cover needs replaced as well. So I've decided to pull the windshield, clean everything up, and rebed it.

The gasket (or glazing) that holds the glass into the aluminum track could use replacing. Current Taylor Made pricing will set me back about $600 - (~67ft @ $8.74/ft). I was wondering if anyone found any other alternatives, or perhaps cheaper sourcing.

Note: There are two different gaskets used on this windshield - Tops/Bottom tracks are 5/8w x 3/4d, and the Side tracks are 7/8w x 7/8d. Corresponding TaylorMade part numbers are 8233990 and 8233980.

I did find one alternative at less than half the price ($3.95/ft) but it only works for the 7/8W track.

Silicon is probably not an option, as each section would have to be done before reinstallation on the deck - given you can't reach the lower inside edges when installed. Silicone prior to installation means it's probably not going to give any (eg: adjust as needed) - which will probably cause me grief as each of the five sections has to slide together.

try -Steele rubber products, i am pretty sure thats the name to search for. check their universal sizeing chart, you should find a superior seal and screw covers there.

While there are other companies that make the gaskets I stayed with TaylorMade. They were the correct size and I didn’t have to do a bunch of second guessing of myself.
