I started my engines yesterday after about a three week hiatus. I noticed blue smoke for about a minute coming from the starboard motor. I’m trying to budget for several jobs I would like to take care over the winter. Is a valve seal repair considered a big/expensive job? Assuming the blue smoke is caused by leaking oil.

Does it smell like oil? It may just be steam from condensation, this time of year.
I’m headed to the boat again today. I will be sure to check for the smell of burning oil. I didn’t think steam would be blue. I learn new things everyday. Thx

Yeah. it's generally white, but might pick up a blue tint from the surrounding water. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it :)
