Here in IL we have basically had all of that the entire summer. Yet we are seeing the same increases in cases that IN has seen (500% IL, 400% IN).

But here is the kicker. IL has basically closed the bars. Except you can go in and play their video poker machines. Neat how that works.

Chicago just issues a stay at home "advisory." Fat boy Pritzker indicated next week the whole state will be under mandatory lockdown. Isn't this fun. If I can't repair my boat this winter I'm going to be very very angry.

I said a few weeks ago we had half a dozen boats come down from Michigan to store at our heated storage in ohio.... They were afraid of the lock downs and getting the boat prepped for spring..

I specifically put mine inside to do some work this winter. I'm going to be the only person there -- socially distanced of course. But I can see them shutting access down. I'll be pissed.

That’s what happened to marinas in Michigan ... you weren’t allowed access to your property ...let alone your second home

My wife went to Costco today after dinner here in Indy..... not a roll of toilet paper or paper towels in the place..... Here we go again

So glad I store in Indiana...indoor cold storage....but I've been there quite a few times already getting projects done in this awesome weather....and looking forward to spring!

So what I read and understand in these posts that it's a money issue, closures of restaurants and access to your boats are the main problems.

Wow, so easy to throw the local restauranteur under the bus. These poor people are loosing everything they have worked for. When we can easily protect the most vulnerable, shutting down people's livelihoods is obscene.

I couldnt tell you were a Karaoke bar is... someone has it out for them though...bastards
Welp......heading to the bar this afternoon/evening to meet a buddy I haven't seen in awhile. King Walz has bestowed upon us his orders and the shutdowns are to begin at 10pm tonight. Probably no karaoke, ever. Those who don't comply will be promptly beheaded. However, they will first have to find the 4 police officers left in the state to round up all the rebel rousers.

I hope I survive. Pray for us.

I hope this virus can be gotten under control soon. The hospitals cannot take a much greater influx of patients even if a small minority require ICU. An overwhelmed hospital system is not just about COVID, its about all the other diseases, accidents etc. that come into hospitals. If they are jammed, people will die. Governments of BOTH sides have to make decisions about how to prevent this from causing more deaths. That includes Republicans and Democrats. This is a bipartisan virus.

This is a simple trade off of jobs/economy vs deaths. I know you are all saying it is inevitable that the virus will spread so just open it all up and let it run its course. Maybe there is a Governor out there that will give that a try. And then there will be a proper test of that theory.

Only an antibody can control a virus.

Here's the thing. At least in IL the ICU's are "empty" -- only on region is above 80%, many are in the 50-60% range. Regular beds are filling up. My understanding is that is due to the 5 day Remdisiver treatments. The game changer will be the monoclonal antibody treatments. These will be the first early treatments, likely give in Drs office and patients sent home to recover. Lillly's is approved. 100,000 doses ready to go, with 1 million thru the end of 2020. Regenoron's version should follow soon.

Not disagreeing, but clarifying "empty".

From the IDPH web site just now.
1,018 COVID Patients occupying 3,764 staffed ICU Beds (so that is 27% of ICU beds have COVID patients, that would not be there if there was no COVID).

Total beds available: 1,144 beds available of 3,764 (so that is 30% % of ICU beds are available in total. So that means that 39% of ICU patients are COVID patients).

I have not seen any statistics on what % of hospital admissions are treated with remdesivir, but that would be very interesting to know so that we can understand if it is actually the reason or not. I am surprised that we have not heard the hospitals and CDC giving those statistics. Maybe they will eventually.

Those monoclonal antibodies work really well for some. The information on the FDA site is good to read.
https://www.fda.gov/news-events/pre...orizes-monoclonal-antibody-treatment-covid-19

And the trajectory seems to indicate that hospitalized cases and ICU patients would be on the rise.:

What?
Here's what it means, 27% of beds have Covid patients, 30% of beds are empty, and 43% of beds are occupied by other patients.

Sources indicate she’s shutting down indoor dining again starting tomorrow (Monday). Hope many of these restaurants can survive a second shutdown.
