460 DA Owners Thread

I took what Joint Custody did one step further...I bought a larger plug in cooler from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083QYHHTB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and removed the stbd step to make it fit. Perfect fit and a little taller than the cushions on the other seats so I am not going to put a cushion on this cooler. I'll post a pic next time I'm at the boat.

This should be a great upgrade by avoiding the ice bags and associated draining and cleaning of the cooler every weekend. I can even adjust the temp to use as a freezer if needed! My Yeti has a matching seat cushion so I am moving it to the other side of the cockpit table and will use it as a seat and backup cooler for really big parties!

I also swapped out the ugly plastic foot switch covers for the windlass with these chrome ones I found from MMI marine (MAXP100733) $74.25 each.View attachment 94139

Ok....I only ordered a few plates to see how they would look before I went all in!
What do ya think?? (old versus new included)

I think it looks alright with the maple....the grab bars are all silver, the door handles are silver, the faucets are silver...now the plates and knobs can be silver. The trim arrived, but it wasn't exactly what I thought I was getting so I had to send 5 pieces back and re-order the radius trim material.

Will be doing mine this weekend.
You don’t realize how dated the gold is until you see the silver next to it.
Looks good!

Tim, the Clarion stereo amp is in the dash just ahead of the steering wheel. I recently went to a JL Audio system, replacing unit, speakers and subwoofer, but not the amp.
If you want to access the amp, you have to remove the lower dash unit. A little tricky but do-able.

I got to test the subwoofer today and it's dead so I need to replace it. What did you replace yours with? What model? thanks!

Replaced my anchor today with the Ultra Marine 60lb + Swivel. Fits perfectly. Now it's time for me to drink a few vodka's and cranberries.... wow my back hurts LOL

Let us know how you like that. Thinking about the same one for our boat. It’s a lot of coin, but it sure is purdy...

All the plates are off as well as knobs and rosettes. The rosettes were a PIA!!!! The only ones that were easy were located in each head. I found the fastest/easiest way to do this was to remove the inside locks...a little extra time but I didn't have to worry about damaging the maple exterior.

Now to find the trim edge for the sliding doors at the galley counter. :)

Anybody have any ideas where to find these handles in chrome or brushed???

I changed everything to JL Audio. The amp I installed was the JL RD900/5. Performs much better than the Clarion amp it replaced. Also easy to tune it from that hatch, if you install it in the same spot as the original amp.

Thank you. Do you have model # for new subwoofer? Direct replacement?

M3-101B subwoofer. Direct replacement, no adapter required but I had to angle some of the fastening screws a bit. It worked fine on my boat but it would depend on how your factory cut-out was made.
MM-50 unit; speakers: M3-650 and remote: MMR-20-BE. Everything fit reasonably well for direct replacement. I needed an adapter plate for the MM-50
Amp could have been a 700 series but my supplier had no stock and gave me an upgrade N/C.

Thank you. For now I just plan to replace the sub. I’ve never heard it work since owning this boat. I have some “wet sounds” 6.5” speakers that I had for my previous boat still brand new in the box so I’m considering trying them as well.

Is there a secret to getting the cover to the sub off? I didn’t just want to pry and potentially break it.
