I am at a very interesting point in my life and have decided to up and move to a place I have always wanted to live - Autstin, TX (and more importantly, Lake Travis). I am sure there are a lot of people on CSR that have some great insight and advice on marinas...so please share!

My wish list - family friendly (we have a 9 and 6 year old), some sort of semi younger crowd, pool and nice amenities. Doesnt need to be "the spot" but I dont want it to be a retirement community. I think I prefer a marina without live aboards, but its not a deal breaker.

Btw, I posted a separate thread for this, but if you can recommend a boat hauler please do. We are moving from Annapolis, MD. Trying to see if it makes sense to haul our boat there or sell here and buy a new one there.

Thank you!

You will have many choices for Lake Travis, we just moved away from there -
My recommendation is to stay on the southern / eastern side of the lake (i.e. Lakeway area).
There you will have The Reserve, Rough Hollow, Lakeway and Crosswater marinas. All have covered slips (which you will want in the TX heat) and are active marinas, The Reserve and Rough Hollow are probably the most upscale for amenities.
For kids, The Reserve has a lazy river, nice pool and pool side restaurant. Rough Hollow has valet parking, short tram ride to the dock and a nice pool with a great restaurant.
I would recommend C&J transport for hauling (Jim Casson 772-201-3444), he hauled our 460 to Lake Travis and did a great job. There are probably many others that can accommodate your 290 but I trust Jim
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks! I will look into all of those places and I already gave Jim a call. He's working up a quote for me.

If he'll wet launch there's a number of ramps that can probably fit the bill.
If you need to transfer and launch Platinum Marine is probably the best option
