Last weekend in Seaview, Fire Island for the season

Very cool... Great way to close out your Summer season.

Thanks @ocgrant
I thought it was crazy that it was 4:30 on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we were the only ones on that part of the bay for so long.

We got in a late afternoon trip to Ocean Beach yesterday. Very strange to see it so empty.

Agreed, it is weird. But the island has such a peaceful vibe to it when it is like this. Even more than usual.

Great video Dave. I always enjoy Fire Island but especially after Labor Day into October.

Another bonus day today!
Davis Park Fire Island has a good crowd taking advantage of the weather.

Closed out the 2020 season. The Dockmaster made this for us.

Thanks Brett! See you next year!

For those of us in the Midwest, when people say they are going to Fire Island, is this the place? Or, are there various Fire Islands? Cool video.

Fire Island is a large part of the barrier islands on the south shore of Long Island. Seaview is just one of maybe a dozen marinas that accept transients. It is also one of the nicest and a close walk to many stores, restaurants and bars in Ocean Beach. Ocean beach has a marina but you can not stay on the boat.

Fire Island also has marinas in two national parks: Watch Hill and Sailors Haven. These are very natural and it is not uncommon to have a deer stroll through in the evening.

These are some of the more popular destinations. Other are town marinas and have residency restrictions for accessbon weekends. Its really a shame because of this your choices are limited.
