Fixing a transom is not difficult. Are you sure that is the only rot?

If you are not up to doing the repairs yourself, sell it as a project to someone who is. Lot's of life left in that hull. It would be a shame to see it chopped up in a scrap yard.

As Thornton said, are you possibly doing it yourself? I rebuilt the transom on my 1989 220. It was a lot of labor but the cost was pretty reasonable. I was learning OJT and the job turned out great. Still perfect after two years.

Also, if you part this one out would you replace it with another one like it? If so, may be worth just fixing this one. If you are going bigger or smaller then there is no way you would get your money back on a repair/sale afterward.

sbw has the best question. How much other rot is there? My job expanded from transom to stringers to box around fuel tank to some sub-deck. I got it done, but plan for more than you know about, if you fix/keep.

Good luck and keep us posted, please.
