Hello, Moved up recently from 2000 240 sundancer to 1999 310 stern drive Sundancer. Boat was repowered 2 years ago with 357 MAG Bravo 4V carb crate engines. I did a little research on pros and cons on both carb and fuel injection engines. Had survey/sea trial last week. During sea trial, she ran at 25mph a 3400/3500RPM and 35mph @ 4300/4400RPM WOT. Any opinions on carb motors? Thanks in advance.

I replaced my 99’ 210br (260 hp) two years ago. I have to tell You with the exceptions of different ignition and fuel setups, I love it! Gone are the finicky ignition anomalies and the engine runs great. I am truly glad I did it. The almost 20 year old computer was going and the expense was much more than I wanted to invest. Good luck!

It's old technology but works reliably assuming ongoing routine maintenance is done per the operator manual for your set up.

Does the boat have Bravo 3's?
The WOT should be 4800 at least.
That boat should do over 40 WOT with Bravo 3's
My 350 Fuel injected WOT is 4800
And does 34mph with V Drives

Nothing wrong with carb'd engines. Not saying yours are running at peak but saying if properly tuned they are as reliable as fuel njection

Yes. Has bravo 3’s. Surveyor said props need to be cleaned/resurfaced... they didn’t look bad(no dings or chipped edges). Hopefully will pick up boat mid week.
