Hi all, as I’m sure you’ve seen as I ask many questions about our new engines and boat, I’m going to re pitch the factory wheels on our 410 this winter. They are 22x23 at the moment. Long post so bear with me
I have added the aetna tachs and did a wot run yesterday. Full fuel, 1/4 water, all gear 2 adults and a child and our stuff. (our normal load)
no tabs, 10mph headwind, 1-2’ chop, clean bottom. we turned 2698 port, 2605 starboard.
I will be using SS propeller (as recommended on here) and they are very knowledgeable, but here’s my question - I don’t want to mask a problem on one side with a prop (100rpm delta between the two motors). What can I do to make sure we have the best chance to match the sides?
CAT has performed the overhead service less than 100 hours ago, they report they both turn up to the max no load rpm (I haven’t tested in my slip yet)
some other things I’ll be doing before the next wot test and winter layup: airsep cleaning and re oil, replacing breather filter (they’re non-OEM), replace racors, replace secondary fuel filters, check charge air hose clamps, and change tranny fluid/gear oil.
anything else I should do so I have an even test between both sides?
Is that 100 difference significant enough to be concerned about? The props are in good shape but we won’t know they truly match until they’re scanned. I’m thinking of having the prop folks repitch the high side to 2850 which should bring the low side up to near 2800
900 hours on the clocks for both engines
