Hey Fellow Sea Ray Members,

If anyone who can recommend any company’s that will transport a 400 sedan bridge from Lake Lanier GA (Buford, GA) to Grand Rapids MI please let me know. Got a quote today and it was insanely high. Also if anyone has this same boat and know what has to come off to ship it please let me know.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

i used http://www.lighthouseboattransport.com/ to bring my boat from FL to NJ
They weren't the least expensive and definitely not the most but they did a great job. On time with no nonsense.
Also, I know others disagree, but I would shrink wrap it for the trip.

Good luck with the move.

Call SR support and they can email you a drawing that shows all of the dimensions. Attached is one from a 440EB for an example of what the drawing would detail.

Let them come to you.

I second this. Many great transporters use this to find backhauls, etc. Also, a lot of fly by night folks. Do your due diligence, look at reviews, insurance, etc.

I used C&J transport to haul my 400 DA. If you search all forums, you will find many threads discussing transport recommendations.

You need to call each and interview them and ask for quotes. you will need full, accurate dimensions and weights - the recommendation to call Sea Ray and ask for the diagram is on the mark.

You want to understand what is needed to prep the boat, who has responsibility for prep and assembly on the other end, specifically what has to come off, etc. Some will tell you you have to drain the fuel tank. What has to happen with the arch? Who removes the props? Do they want the boat sharing wrapped or not? Lots of variance in transporters - do your homework on the front end so that you aren't back here afterwards bitching about what went wrong and getting advice about what you should have done.
