We have a 1988 34 Sundancer we purchased not too long ago....I can't stand the cabin interior and would like to have new color carpet, seats, and ceiling. We are in the Panama City, FL area. Does anyone know of someone who can help me or direct me to a website I can do this myself with a little instruction?

Go to webshots and search for Bluegrass marine. You will get an album named vinniestruck. Look at his albums and you will find 30' Sea Ray Weekender. He did a GREAT restore and took alot of photos. You might email him? Good luck JC

We have an '89 340 DA that was the maroon and mauve color scheme (barf). The overhead and hard surfaces were going to be pricey to replace so we chose to tone down the pinks with some other colors. My wife and I did this work ourselves.

We also re-striped to get rid of the mauve wherever possible.

We also added a larger swim platform.

There is a lot you can do without spending a lot. It is a 20 year old boat. Unless you plan to keep it for a long time is it worth $5-8,000 to make those improvements. Just one guy's thoughts.

If you are in Panama City, you have access to some of the best marine craftsmen in the business. Business is slow so why not get the experts to do it since it will never be cheaper than now.

For interior and upholstery, see Chip at the Recovery Room just off Thomas Drive. For carpet......and recarpeting a boat is not like doing a spare bedroom - Sea ray runs the carpet up the walls and under seating, etc. - it took a little more than a week to do our 450.....call The Carpet Connection just off 23rd st. They have one installer, Barney, who is a master. He did my carpet in January and was a pleasure to work with and when he was done, you couldn't tell he was ever on the boat, other than the new carpet.

I see you live in Tallahassee and I guess keep the boat in PC......both guys I recommended are people you can give your keys to and not worry about your boat.

Good luck with it........

THANK YOU!!!! This helps so much! Yes, we live in Tallahassee but our boat is in Panama City for now. Thinking of moving it to Destin after the summer! Thanks again for your contacts..We are new to the boat owning world!!!

you might have just made the most important one Mr. Webster, get to know him.
