Windshield Vent Seal Replacement

It has been well over the 45 days since Ken @ FP Marine said he would have it in stock and no word as of yet. I emailed him 2 weeks ago and have heard no response back. Really sad how this CV19 has just put the brakes on so much of everything.

I know. Sounds like it may be coming from China which would explain the delay. I sold the boat but that replacement I did really looks factory and worked fairly well. Please keep me posted as I would still look to by some for the new owners. Good luck.

Can you put me in contact with the person/place that you had this made or purchased out right? At this point in the game I need a better solution than what I did. I basically put some weather stripping from Home Depot as temporary and it leaks even with a light rain.

Yours looks fantastic. I would be willing to do that as well.

Here is what I bought to make mine as in previous photos.
https://www.steelerubber.com/search?q=83-0137-73

Used a razor to miter cut the joining corners. Be sure to purchase the Loctite glue they sell. It is super strong and make sure to use rubber gloves because you will get stuck like I did lol.....

Also, I talked to Ken Gearin on the OEM foam rubber that they have on order. I just emailed him again to see if he knows anything about their order.

We were just talking about replacing oursxthis weekend, great timing. I looks like you replaced the seal at the bottom of the windshield as well. What did you use there?

I cannot remember the part number for that one as someone gave me enough left over to replace. FP Marine should be able to get you the correct replacement if you call them.

How did you make out on the window seal? I have some left over that was given to me from FP to try if you need still.

I should sell these gaskets!! There a hot item!!

The link you posted from steelrubber, is just for the vent window correct?
If so, does anyone have a link for the rubber at the base of the rest of the windshield?

I have some of that seal at home. I just don't know how you made that work. I imagine you probably used some adhesive to make two pieces together?

The search continues.
Hello I am in desperate need of some of that gasket. Do you know anyone that has any?

Ok, sounds great. I am going ahead with a possible alternate fix and will let you know how that works out. I found a different kind of foam rubber seal that may work. I'll keep in touch.
Hello, has anyone been able to locate the window vent gasket or another alternative? Thanks in advance!

I used following to replace the movable window gasket. The T fit into my widows slot perfectly. To make it easier to install, I disconnected the actuator arm from the window so it could fully open. Also used gasket glue to seal the gasket corners. No leaks at all after 6 weeks or so with lots of very heavy rain.

Thanks,

Hi Mike, how many feet did you order? Any pics?

I did this project this summer as well, on my 400DA. I tried three generations of the generic weatherstripping foam, trying different widths and thicknesses. Easy to install, and fortunately easy to remove. All three attempts leaked.

I finally found some material at Kendor Marine in Franklin WI that seemed like it was a fit. Kendor basically sells a lot of overstock and used parts, so I can't give you a part number, and much of what they have is just on unmarked spools. I have a scrap and can take a picture and provide dimensions if that would help. I bought 10 feet for mine, and that worked well.

I had to fill in one corner with some gasket silicone, but otherwise no leaks.

That is exactly what I did as you can see in some of the earlier posts. I even added some shims between the hinge mounting surface and glass to give more pressure downward.

If you can take a pic and some dimensions that would be great.

If you can take a couple of pics and dimensions that would be awesome!! Thanks Mike
