I'm still getting to know my new-to-me '04 280DA with 4.3's and all of its complexities. I received the boat without any manuals or documentation. This site has been a treasure chest of knowledge. Long story short - I'm occasionally receiving a 4 beep alarm normally with the engines running at low RPMs, but it has also happened with the engines off (after turning the keys on and before starting) in the slip. The SC gauges showed no fault notice. Any help would be appreciated. Other info. . .boat was barely touched for 3 years in a slip (don't get me started) prior to my purchase, 100 % fresh water, just went through both lower units, impellers, lower shift cable, gimbels, bellows, dealing with bad EIM's, etc. . . Thanks,

You probably have a continuous beep like in low drive fluid. Disconnect it at the Bullitt terminals and see if it stops.

I had a multiple beep alarm in my WE and couldn't figure it out as well - both with the engine on and off. Turned out to be my expired CO2 detector (FireBoy) in the cabin randomly going off.

The beeps are definitely coming from the Smartcraft alarm under the dash. I found an obscure listing on an aftermarket performance site that it is a low oil fluid warning on an outboard or the water/fuel separator is full of water. Does the separator have a sensor? I'll be back at the boat Friday and pull the filter and look for water. . .

It's definitely a four beep alarm, not continuous or all the time. On a three day weekend, I get 1 - 2 of these 4 beep alarms. When I originally purchased the boat, I got them regularly, several times a day. After DIY servicing over several days, the alarms became very infrequent.

Only thing I could find was beeping for 5 sec., low battery but that was a Mefi 3, I think you have a 555.
