Neutral Safety Switch on 1988 390 EC

having to jiggle the shifter handles to start the motors. Sometimes it works quickly and some times its a 10-15 minute effort.

The motors are MerCruiser 7.4 Litre, 310 HP. Can someone tell me where these switches are located? Was told by someone it was on the shifters but no luck there. I believe they are on either the transmission or some part of the starter configuration. Any information, pictures or manuals I can get would be much appreciated!

The switch activates mechanically so it would be attached to linkage, nothing to do with the starter. So look on the transmission y/r wire more than likely.

It’s located on the transmission, I tried to upload the ZF63 manual but it was to large, you can find it online.
