I'm trying to figure out if this thing works. I reset the interface switch to factory settings where it shows the battery charging switch as off. I read something on the internet about you're supposed to turn that switch on and off which sets up the charging for the battery. Still not clear on that.

That said here's how it's wired, the shore plug has a circuit going directly to the cabin and also a circuit to the freedom 10. I'm wondering if it should be that way. When I put the meter on the battery is was being drained instead of charging. Is that because of possibly that switch set I should be doing or is this thing wired wrong? Or is this thing shot? With a charged battery it will light up the interface. Any info about how this thing is supposed to work or how I can verify if it works would be great if anybody has anything. Thanks

Ok I had this on my last boat. The switch on the panel is only to turn on the "inversion" system when you are away from the shore power. You should have a switch on the boat panel that turns on the "charger" portion of the inverter when your shore power or geney is running. I had a surge on my shore power once and it blew a glass fuse in the inverter itself keeping the charger portion from charging.

I checked my panel and don't see anything. The only switch I have is on the interface other than the inverter itself. If I read things correctly I believe there is supposed to be an automatic switch that gets triggered when you're on shore power which converts the inverter into a battery charger.

I took the inverter out of the boat yesterday and am searching for someone to take it to for an evaluation. So far it appears that may be harder than I expected. If it isn't a tv or stereo, electronics people don't seem to exist.

Thanks for your response.
