Hi there. I just bought a 2001 Sea Ray 450 Express Bridge. The shower doesn't drain very well. Generally speaking we take military showers (turn on shower to get wet, then turn off shower to soap up, turn on shower to final rinse). I am heading down this weekend to clean out the pump in the gray box and see if that helps with the flow.

1) There's a gray box in the galley area near the aft of the boat. Does anyone know if there is a second gray box, perhaps near the bow of the boat where both showers/heads reside?

2) Any other recommendations for improving shower drain speed?

As far as other recommendations, one thing to check is the slop on your drain line feeding to the sump box. I had the same problem on my forward shower and it was simply a dip in the drain line that was causing the slow movement of water.

As far as the 2 stateroom configuration of the 450 Express Bridge, There is only 1 sump for both showers, all interior sinks, and the AC systems to drain into. I would suspect it would be the same for the 3 stateroom version but I cannot say for sure.

Make sure you clean all the hair from the drain after each shower. It takes very like hair to slow the water flow draining into the sump.

I clean the sump about every 2 months. Then I take my wet dry vac and suck all the incoming lines from inside sump. You will not believe what come out.
