Have someone try right on the joystick while you are at the bow if you do not hear the motor trying to go right
Then it is likely in the joystick

If you hear the motor trying to go right then gently help it turn right if it then continues right on its own you likely have a stripped spot in the gears

I rebuilt mine to renew the gaskets and the flex bellows
Water had cased one motor to freeze up
In my case it would not move up/down at all
I have the manual and photos of my internals if it comes to that
