I removed fold out sofa years ago and never looked back. The amount of storage we gained was a huge help.

I had to make a supporting frame to keep the seats from falling in. I have no idea what SR engineers were thinking when designing this sofa. The tiny plastic stoppers, which are screwed to the bottom of the seats are useless.

I think his is exactly where yours and mine are-under the entertainment center. He took out one of the "walls" in the storage compartment in the cockpit to the left of the sliding door when you exit the salon....

at least that is what it looks like to me....

Yep CD and Bennett, you're both right. I didn't know where the drain holes for the drip tray were located, and could only see one (the forward hole) from the entertainment center view. Since that hole was unobstructed, I figured there must be another hole and hoped that I might be able to access it from the aft side. That's when I removed the forward wall of the cockpit storage compartment adjacent to the AC unit to gain access. It was only necessary to remove the screws that attached the forward wall (via L-shaped brackets) to the other surfaces, so it wasn't too bad.

That’s the conclusion I came to upon further consideration.

On another note, have you had much interest in the sale of your boat? I’m on the fence putting mine on the market now. Mine would be one of only two in the class for sale on the west coast. I had it for sale before the CoVid and then took it off shortly after I turned down an offer that was pretty close. The buyer was from Seattle and eventually went to Fla to buy one.

Had a deposit in March, but financing fell through. Two serious buyers in the last 2 months... one bought a 2017 50’ Princess and the other a 40’ Express boat. I am of the mindset if it sells good, otherwise I still love the boat.

Great position to be in for sure!

Did anyone replace head vent blower? Mine is getting noisier and I'd like to replace it before it goes.

If I'm not mistaken, the same blowers are used throughout the boat, both heads, galley and ER.

Before I start taking things apart, do you guys know location of the blower in the master head? Do I need to take off medicine cabinet? I used a mirror to scoop behind the vanity and don't see it.

If anyone found a source for a quieter version of the blowers, I'd appreciate it.

When I was replacing the faucet valve cartridge in my master stateroom shower, I noticed the blower was right around the corner from the access panel in the medicine cabinet.

I would think you need to remove the medicine cabinet to replace it.

Just by the sound, it does appears to be right between the medicine cabinet and the sink. I was hoping that someone can share their experience on replacing one and post the blower's brand/model. It would be nice to have the part ready, so I can deal with this in one day, vs. taking it apart and then waiting for new blower to arrive.

Have you ever pulled the medicine cabinet out? I tried to get mine out in the master head. Called SR and sent met the supposed to be for my boat drawing. It was not. I never did get it out. Replaced the female hose fittings in the shower mixing valve through the inspection hole. What a pain...good luck. I may still have the drawing if you would like it, let me know.

Since it's gotten pretty quiet here, I'll dredge up the air conditioning thread again... just now spending some quality time on our newly acquired 420 and devoured this entire forum (thank you Alex) before making the purchase. A few newbie questions:
1. The condensation drip pan in the salon was nearly full after running for a week in 80-90 degree temps, and I suspect the condensate line is plugged somewhere along it's long trip to the forward sump. Forward staterrom drip tray is bone dry and AC working well in both locations. Any tips on how to unpclog the salon line? I simply wet-vac'd the water out as a temporary measure. Somewhat rusty but not as far gone as the pics Alex showed earlier in this thread. Pic below showing water about 1/4" from the top of the tray. View attachment 87986
2. I'm looking to replace this metal trim at the edge of the galley but don't know what the part is called and haven't had any luck searching for it. Anyone out there sourced a replacement at some point?

Thanks,
BJ
I had this happen a few years ago on my 420DB. The drain on the AC unit is hard to access, so I went to the other side where it drains to which is the shower sump. I removed the plexiglass lid from the shower sump, pushed the nozzle from my dockside water hose to where the drain hose from the AC unit connects and pushed the water up to the AC unit in the salon. This procedure pushed out the dirt from the drain hose. I vacuumed the drain pan afterwards, haven’t had a problem since!

I have that same question for the guest head! Has anyone replaced that and know the best access and what kind of fan it is? Mine rattles like crazy!

I took a lot of pictures when my boat was built at the factory in Palm Coast. Take a look from behind the medicine cabinet in the master head. My problem is in the guest head for which I don’t have a picture!

Thanks for posting the pic. Bennet sent me the drawing diagram he got from SR and it looks very similar. BTW, it's interesting to see your hull #541. Mine is #542.

I'm looking to get this blower: https://www.amazon.com/Johnson-Pump-54154-Remote-Radial/dp/B002IVENNE

My only concern is that my parts manual says 5415 as part #, where this one is 54154. I'll need to find a source who I can call to get clarification on the difference between the two.

In any case, looks like removal of medicine cabinet is required.
if your hull number is one off from mine, I probably have a picture of yours in the factory. During the time mine was built (March/April 2004) they delivered 2 per week of the 420DB according to our guide.

Wouldn't mind seeing some more photos of your build process if you have them. Please PM if you do.

Here are some more, most of them are from my boat!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing.

Hey guys. Just installed a Hurley H30 and I am questioning how I want to strap the inflatable down once its down on the rack. Whats everyone doing with their straps and how does it look? I strapped mine down and went for a ride and it rocks in place a little bit. Doesn't look serious but just concerned that its moving around and I can't see it easily.
