SmartCraft CCM: IMU Data Fault

On 2012 Sea Ray 450 Sedan Bridge I started getting intermittent SmartCraft alarm that reads "CCM: IMU Data Fault". It goes away after awhile. But when it's on the Precision Pilot blinks "Standby" and does not operate.
Would appreciate any information and suggestions.

I think that's related to the electronic compass. Have you calibrated it lately?
 
I have not and didn't know it needs to be done. Looked thru the manuals and could not find the procedure. Can it be done without hiring a tech? is there a manual? Thanks.

That I can't answer. I would think it would be covered in your Auto-Pilot documentation.

If it is the same setup as mine, the IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) works in conjunction with the dedicated GPS antenna for skyhook, Autoheading, etc.
It is not something you can calibrate yourself. It requires the dealer/service tech software.
