Official 330 Express Cruiser / 340 Amberjack 1997-2003 Thread

Happy Monday. Has anyone ever blew the 12 volt outlet breaker. I happen to pop mine. Four of the outlets went down and I have no idea where the breaker is any suggestions?I looked under the stairs the main panel and also under the helm nothing has popped.I don’t see a dedicated breaker for the outlets

Yes, the 110 plug outlets. Mine does not have a GFI in the bathroom. Hmm

Ok I found it! It is not in the bathroom. It is in the lower left rolling door cabinet. Hope this helps someone.

Is the outlet below the deck bait station/sink tied to the head GFI?

I don’t think we’ve ever tried to use the outlet in the head, but the bait station’s “blender” outlet does not work on my boat. Trouble shooting it has been on my to-do list for a while.

Thanks,
Chad

I didn’t know there was an outlet out by the bait station. I have to look and see if it is just an EC thing or if the Amberjack has one also. It’s very strange that they moved the GFI from the bathroom outlet on the express cruiser to Hidden in the cabinet on the Amberjack. The bathroom makes way more sense. I can’t understand why you would want a plug in that cabinet anyways when there’s one right outside the cabinet

That outlet is not tied into the bathroom gfi there is a breaker on the ac panel labeled accessory that runs the outlet and cockpit freezer

Anyone have any idea the correct elbow connector leading from the hot water heater to the red hot water lines? I had mine pop off last year and figured it was a worn/faulty elbow (Whale 15mm) so I got a new one but it keeps popping off and draining the water tank. It stays on just long enough where I think I put it on correctly, but then I checked the part I got and it says it’s for “grooved stems only” and mine is smooth, no groove for the connector’s o-ring to lock into. It the 6 gal Atwood that I’m assuming most of you have in the late ‘90’s version. Atwood/Dometic website no help, and I can’t find a different Whale 15mm elbow part.

My seat worked fine when the boat was launched three weeks ago. Now it won’t move. It’s like the motor isn’t getting any power. Is the motor located under the helm seat?
Most of the problems I’ve had with things that operate from switches at the helm were with the switches themselves. New switch, problem solved. I’d start there.

I replaced just about all of the garbage push on fittings on my boat with new clamp on pex fittings. For the hot water tank I had to install a new male threaded end into the tank with a barb on the other end to attach a short piece of pex. I did this to replace the stubs coming out of the tank.

I was continually chasing leaks on the boat with my old tired fresh water pump. I have since upgraded my pump and have not had any leaks.

Good afternoon. I am new to the forum and hoping someone may be able to help me out. I recently purchased a 1997 330 Express Cruiser, and i'm having difficulty finding the complete boat manual. I have been able to find the manual supplement, but not the full version. Any help would be appreciated.

Just spent five days on the boat in fire Island and I have to say it has not been comfortable sleeping on the boat. how many of you guys have added memory foam or mattress toppers to your sleeping areas? When I was looking for these boats I came across one that had the forward state room converted to a permanent berth ,cushions removed and plywood placed down and custom mattress made I laughed when I saw it but now I’m considering maybe converting what say you?

I've been looking into it, as I also feel it's not too comfortable as is. I'm more interested in something I can stow when not in use. There is a store near me (called the Foam Store) that has 3" egg crate foam with a nice cover that can be cut to size. Would need the "Eastern King" size, would be about $400 total for V-Berth, and I think I could roll it up and put it in the hold. https://www.foamorder.com/foam/egg-crate-foam.html

We put a 4” memory foam topper over the berth area. We never use the table in that area so I replaced the table with a carpeted piece of plywood, since the table was never real stable.

It is much much better than just the cushions, but still not like an actual mattress.

To make a topper, buy either a California king or standard king size. Neither is quite big enough. The California is not wide enough and the regular King is not long enough.

Make a template and cut to size. An electric turkey knife cuts the foam cleanly. If you plan correctly you can use the cut pieces to fill the gaps in length or width. 3M spray adhesive bonds the foam very well.

Many toppers have a stretchy fabric cover. I was able to get it over the new odd shaped topper I built. I used a standard King.

With all of that said, we recently ordered a new King foam bed for our home and I plan to construct a full depth foam mattress for the boat with our old one. (Like I said much better, but still not ideal. We have stayed on the boat for a week with the topper.)
