Hi Everyone,
I just sold my Sea Ray 340 2003 and in the middle of purchasing a 2001 380 (the owner has spent $60k on upgrades last year) has bow and stern thruster plus brand new full camper, solid hardwood interior flooring and all new electronics.

I am just looking for advise from other Owners, anything to look out for? It’s passed structural with flying colours and mechanical is booked.

thanks
Michael

I have the same boat. Maybe check when the manifolds were last done? It will help you plan for that expense. Stern thruster, fancie! Make sure to run the generator with some load, like starting the microwave. Other than that I love mine!

Thanks for the input, yes manifolds I hear are worth checking but Thankfully it’s a FW boat only. I know the marina that sold it from new (I live opposite them on the water, Hurst Marina ) and we are hundreds of miles from any SW. (I live in Canada) Genie- yes was planning on running the AC as a large load. Appreciate the input

Here is the solid oak hardwood! Just beautiful and brand new ❤️

If you want to double check on the origin of sale, I phoned SeaRay .... we were looking at a 340 years ago and the dealer indicated, as far as he knew, the boat sold originally in Montreal...Searay said it sold in MM, Florida.
The ON numbers are also a giveaway... that boats vintage should have E numbers if it was sold in Ontario. There are lots of boats imported from Florida, after the hurricanes.

Good call just checked and the ON number starts 32E Serial also is SERF so a solid core hulled boat. It was made in September 2001 from serial being Letter I then 001

Just contacted Sea Ray. Boat as expected from serial was a solid core hull out of Merritt Island factory. Boat sold to Hurst Marina in Ottawa Canada (I live across the water from them!!) first owner was from Pincourt Quebec, so a certified FW boat! Yeah!

Good to know the history and find out its a local boat...peace of mind.
Yep especially with the manifold issues in SW. But going to still pull a riser this winter and check.

I just noticed there is a 380 from Hurst, home ported in Montreal, in our marina. Popular model.
Sadly deal fell apart when our surveyor missed that the stern tube assy’s were cracking of the hull! Huge job engines out new tunnels moulded in. I found water dripping between fibre glass and tunnel under engine. It’s a solid core hull too!

That sucks, glad it was caught before!

What was your surveyors name? How could he miss this if the boat was in the water?
The surveyor is refunding so I am not going to publish his name. But the boat was out the water there was zero excuse to miss this. But I do suggest other 2001 380 owners to check their prop tunnels where the tunnel is joined to the hull both bilge side and hull external side. This is solid core boat too. It’s not related it’s fatigue.

Do you know what caused crack. IE stress or hit something or blocked wrong. We have a 380 (1989) and have never seen any cracks.
