Wiring for 400 Sundancer ignition switch

thanks Joe!
Roller are you still having problems. Things came up and I haven't got to the boat yet. I still plan on getting there just not as soon as I planned. We are going to Metro on the boat this afternoon and probably can't get the pic till this evening. Sorry.

No worries. I can start the boat, I just have to parallel.

I took pics of all the gauges and switches today, but I haven’t found the nerve/will to start tearing the rest apart. I found vodka instead. :D

We it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be Roller. I didn't have much room to pull it out and get a good pic. Here's what I could get. I put my figure on the Starboard switch to help you tell which one was which. Hope this helps.

Thanks!!! As it is now, the upper wires on mine are the reverse of yours. I thought I tried side-to-side swaps. One swap rendered nothing, the other ran the starter in the ON position. Interesting...

Roller I should have pointed out that the top is at the bottom of the photos. My finger is on the top of the switch. I wanted to be able to pull the panel out more and get a good pic, but all I could get was a few inches. I probably took 15 shots just to get these 4.:D:D:D

Closure on this: I apparently hadn't mentioned in my posts that I had installed a new switch. I bought a Carling OFF/ON/(ON) as they describe it, but I wasn't careful about model number or purpose. The switch I bought had the rocker positions correct, but lacked a jumper between the two "on" terminals. It was as simple as that.

The correct part yielded the correct results. Go figure.

Still owe you one for the pics Joe - I would probably still be swapping wires without them. Go ahead and grab a few beers from Rich's cooler - you deserve it. :D

:D:D:DWell that's not really a favor Roller, haven't you seen what he drinks?:D:D:D Looks like Rich and I will be visiting your marina, arriving July 14th and heading back to MacRay on the 15th. We're going to stop by Crew's Nest for a couple nights on the way down. Hopefully you can be around and I'll stop by and say hi. Glad you got the electrical figured out.

I have to say this quietly because there's a few of them in this club. Shhhhh Miller Lite.

Here are the switches...Emergency switch in the middle.

I have the same issue except that the replacement switches have the 7 pins. Not sure where to connect the wires since it changes configuration. Diesel engines. The starboard will kick over if I hold down the emergency as well but drops like a dead draw when only pushing STBD sw. Assuming it is the switch and don't want to short anything. Blue Sea 8284 is the replacement I have. Thanks!

Also, I see there is a jumper on the switches in the pics. The replacement switches do not have them; is that a concern?
