My boat came with Phifertex sun screens. I had them on for awhile, made a noticeable difference in the Florida heat. Was thinking about putting them back on for the season but not sure how that would effect the wind shield. I know I would have to take them off to clean the windshields. I'm more concerned about scuffing or scratching the windshield as a result of running with the screens installed.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong and you aren't suppose to have them on when underway. I can see through them and if there's visual issues I can just look over the windshield frame, through the isinglass.

Was kind of thinking of leaving them on for the season. Anyway, has any one out there got experience with these things?

Thanks
Ron

Mine stayed on all season as do most others I have observed.

They wont damage the glass wind screen. You don't want to run with any covers over your soft windows if you have those. To cut down on the uv damage and heat in the cabin or cockpit you can also buy some of the foil backed bubble pak, cut to the shape of the windows and slide under the windshield cover. cuts out 100 percent of UV. Simply slide out and roll up when you want the light or visibility.
I made an entire set for my boat and lowered the cabin temp in the summer by 20 degrees.
Carpe Diem
