My fuel gauge has been reversed since the boat got new gauges in 2010. Is it possible to reverse the sending unit in the tank?

Try reversing the leads at the back of the gauge that should do the trick!

Yeah, but I switched the two wires, and the gauge still reads reverse. So I think changing polarity doesnt work

If you're saying that all of this started after a gauge swap, then go through and check the connections on the back of the gauges as that makes the most sense as to where the problem lies.

Other than that, it could be a bum gauge, but... a fuel gauge reads "full" if there's a short. Meaning, if the pink and ground wires are touching, it will read full - in fact, the needle will "peg" full.

The access to the fuel sender in your boat is super simple - VERY easy. Check the connections there, too. In the end, as Scoff alluded to, this is a dirt simple system so don't overthink it.

The gauge measures ohms at the sender. The American Marine Sender specifications are 240 ohms for Empty and 33.5 ohms for Full. The European Marine Sender specifications are 10 ohms for Empty and 180 ohms for Full. Since you are in Norway there is most likely a mismatch between your gauge and your sender. Either the sender or gauge will need to be replaced. Does your gauge have "E" for Empty and "F" for Full (American) or an empty circle for Empty and a full circle for Full (European)? Most likely changing to the opposite of what you currently have will fix the problem. Faria has a good instruction sheet at https://fariabeede.com/site_manuals/IS0085d.pdf .
