Calling all 360 DA owners

Well this gets even stranger. Went to check the temperature sensors yesterday. Go down below, turn on the keys, hit the ignition breakers and the alarm goes off. Verified that the topside engine switches were in the off position. Still tested the sensors by unplugging each one and turning the keys off and on, but no joy. Just think I am going to wait for the marina to scan the engine codes to see what is up.

Well the plot thickens. Marina (authorized Mercury repair facility) scanned the engines and there are no error codes.

UPDATE... Solved! Turns out all along this was a low fuel alarm because I only had 24 gal in the port. Although the Mercury information says nothing about the alarm sounding for low fuel, the tech at the marina went into and deactivated the low fuel alarm in the engine system and the alarm went away! As soon as I put gas in I will have them reactivate it, though normally I would never be this low.

Batteries are only 4 years old. No issues. generator is a westerbeke as well :/. I hate spell check...

Kind of old school problem, I have the SR Systems monitor, 2002 model and can’t get rid of “data link failure” message .... have tried to re seat coax at both ends...anything else I should try?? Thanks
I’m having the same issue, going to check the connections, where does the coax cable run to? Is it in the helm or engine room?

I searched the forum, but didn't see anything similar to my problem. Finally after 8 months of being down due to our generator rebuild and then the weird Mercruiser Alarm we final got out in our boat today. First thing we did is add fuel. 97 GAL to PORT, 91 GAL to STBD. Leave the fuel dock and PORT is showing empty and STBD is showing 1/2 full. Get underway and go on a short trip running about 3200RPM. During the trip, PORT comes up to 1/2 and STBD shows full. Stop and drop the hook for a while. Restart and now PORT is on E again and STBD is 1/2. STBD comes back up to full during trip. Any suggestions? Could the level sensors have been damaged sitting for 6 months with so little fuel in the tank?

Generator update...so i tried a few of the suggestions this past weekend. I let the generator run for about 4 minutes before adding any load. I first added the battery charger, head unit, fresh water pump. Note that port/stbd systems are always on, along with both fridge, and the one freezer, and fresh water. All good, with no variation in volts below 120. I then added the AC. The AC fan turns on without issue, but as soon as the compressor turns on, volts drop below 100 and stay there. The AC unit is really struggling, and the generator is too (obviously). I shut the AC off, and let the generator return to normal. I shut everything else off except for fridge/freezer, port/stbd systems, fresh water. I leave the battery charger off, and turn the AC on. This time, no issue. I let run for a while, still no issue.
So it appears that the charger and the AC are too much of a draw - which sounds strange to me.
For those with the same set up, do you have the same issue, or should i be trouble shooting something else?

“I’m having the same issue, going to check the connections, where does the coax cable run to? Is it in the helm or engine room?”

Hi....the coax comes from a black box on the starboard side of the engine room bulkhead up to the display beside the helm.

What size generator?

My fuel gauges seem erratic at times. I topped of the tanks 2 weekends ago, and they showed full on the gauges and at 100% on Smartcraft. This past weekend they were fluctuating in the 90-95% range on smartcraft.

New question: How does the TV in the master bedroom get removed? Looks like it is built in place attached to the bottom of the base plate. No great access to the rear of tv to get to any screws. Please tell me there is a simple way to remove the Toshiba DVD TV.

Thanks,
Dennis

Dennis....I replaced mine about 3 years ago. If I recall, tthe front 2 screws were accessible from the front, but the last one was under one of the shelves in the closet. Here is mine.

Thanks, I am guessing I had air or something trapped affecting the sensor. After a couple of trips and bouncing across a few wakes, my gauges are now working properly.

Wanted to give an update in case others ever run into this problem. Turns out the Mercury alarm was also sounding for shallow depth. At my slip during low tide it is not uncommon to see depth of 3.5' - 4'. On two recent trips the alarm was sounding at the slip again, but I decided to get underway to see if it would clear, as soon as I hit the channel an 7+ feet of water the alarm stopped. Repeated this test a couple of times to confirm. I had the shallow water alarm on my chartplotters set at 4'. In the past this only alarmed on the chart plotter. I just recently did a software update on the plotters and apparently they now share the alarms across the NMEA 2000 backbone so the Mercury alarm sees them and sounds.

Thanks!!

Oil, filter, fuel filter changed last fall.
Impeller changed last spring.
I wait for good water flow from the exhaust.
I have not let it run for 4 full minutes. 2 max maybe.
I only have the battery charger, and ac running. Aside from fridge freezer which always stay on
When generator is running with no load, bolts are 120 and hold steady. As I turn the smaller items on, it stays steady as well. I do not run the hot water while on generator.
Only when I turn the ac on - with it without the other items, does it big down and I get the low power warning. note that I tried this two weeks ago at the dock, and no issues. This happened once late last summer.
does the charger really draw that much? I will try this weekend. Thanks for the input.

Just a thought....how about the spark plugs? Does it seem to run smoothly, before adding a load?
Btw, where are the spark plugs on a Westerbeke? It’s probably time I should change mine. My previous boat had a Kohler, and it ran like an old lawn mower when it needed new plugs.

It only took 16 months since Hurricane Michael tore our canvas to get our new enclosure finished. We started this process with a downpayment in Feb 19 and the enclosure was just finished this week. We changed from the blue bimini top to a tan full enclosure with tinted strataglass in the rear. Took forever, but we think it came out great.

Batteries: Has anyone added a third battery to the house battery bank? Looks like there is enough room there to sit one or even two more batteries. When out for the weekend I like to know the batteries have plenty of capacity to run both frig and freezer plus the stereo while still turning on the generator for a few hours. Lately I have been turning the freezer to #2 setting at 10pm and then back to #4 at 6am.

You have a house bank? My 2003 only has PORT/STBD banks. I have not not run down which one supplies the house power.
