Hi there. My drive lube alarm went off In my sea ray 2013 270slx yesterday, checked the tank and it’s empty and noticed oil in the water around outdrive. What sort of repair and cost am I looking at here

Had same problem on my alpha I gen II and it was input shaft seal which let oil out but because of bellows would not let water into drive which let me finish out last season and this spring when I pulled drive bellow was 1/3 full of oil. Wasn't a bad fix but top gearset needs pulled.

find the leak first, may be a rotted oil line to a leaking carrier seal with water and oil in the below or a leaking shift seal or fishing line behind the prop.
But considering it was full when you checked it during your pretrip engine room inspection ..............................................................

There are several seals that can go bad. Get it pulled ASAP because when oil goes out, water usually comes back in.
Anyone’s guess on price, but while the drive is off, have the bellows replaced, new bearing, check the coupler, new lower shift cable, new water inlet fitting and hose, alignment, then seals fixed. Figure that whole thing at a reputable shop is likely in the $1500 range, at least here in my neck of the woods.

Thank you

The hose barb for the hose between the transom and outdrive for the lube monitor. $13 part. Getting to it to replace it is a witch.
