Nice layout... You might consider adding a I70s display to your set up. Check it out as it will give you all your engine data while underway so your chart can be full size. I added one to my set up and can't be happier.
I assume the I70S operates on the STNG backbone? Did you install one for each engine or can you display info for both on one display. Given the size I could put one on the right subpanel where the audio remote panel used to reside. Thanks for giving me more ideas on how to get rid of the pesky boat bucks in my savings account. My wife just loves it when I buy more toys for her boat:p

Added a tv for the kids in the mid cabin this weekend. I try to limit how many holes I make in the veneer or the fiber glass on our boats. So I had a bracket made up that mounts the the deck under the cushion. Have to neaten up the wires but mounted an Apple TV to the bracket as well. Great for movies or YouTube as that’s what they mostly watch. Clears both doors by about 1/2”

One will do both but with your space I would have 2 of them. They are a super handy gauge, I didn't even know about them until a couple weeks ago when I picked up one from a guy here that does electronics in Miami and sells his take offs. I plugged it in and fell in love with it. I really only needed a seperate depth gauge but this thing does it all. My only issue is I want to install a second one but no more space.... Yes just plugs into the backbone.

Thank you! Now that I see this picture, it looks familiar. Have you posted it before? I added an accumulator tank in almost the same location... I feel like I might have even commented that previously. Maybe I just imagined the whole thing!

Man, must be getting old...can't even remember!!

Well, this is my first post to this incredible forum, which I've stalked for over a month leading up to our purchase of a 2004 420 Sedan Bridge (delivery within the week). First big boat, first diesel, first a lot of stuff:) I plan to do a lot more listening than talking but look forward to the conversations as I learn my way around this vessel.

One focused question on the issue of water collecting under the elevated floor in the engine room (love the inspection ports, by the way). Bajturner has a great image back on page 81 of this forum that points out a bulkhead. Our surveyor noted moderate moisture in an otherwise "firm and serviceable" forward engine room bulkhead that separates the ER from the galley floor storage compartment. I'm not sure how dry the bilges were kept by the previous owner, but they looked good after sea trial and I'm wondering if there could be retained water under that floor that is wicking up the bulkhead? Appreciate any feedback on whether it's worth tapping into that space as others have done.
Thanks!

;););)Welcome aboard and congratulations on your purchase. I was you 5 years ago and quite apprehensive about making such a big move up. I am convinced after using the hell out of this forum that we made the right move by getting back into SeaRay ownership.
Make sure you post pics, as you have seen, no pics.... didn’t happen.
Cheers
Oh, as far as the water issue, I don’t think you can over do installing inspection ports. Just make sure to seal any exposed core plywood as you go.
Where do you hail from? We like to know at least the region as some information you seek is dependent on regional support and environment as well, plus some of us are just nosy

Welcome aboard, and welcome to the OCD Mystery Water Club! I think it's certainly possible, maybe even likely, that the source of the moisture is from trapped water in the inaccessible cavities.

Okay, so brought my new to me 44 SD 250 miles by water for her shakedown cruise and she ran like a champ never missing a beat. So, of course after getting her to her new home, the first thing to do is to start ripping things apart to see how she works! (Chasing down electronics and entertainment components!) My question is, do the seat backs on the bridge come off some way? I am trying to see if there is access to the arch in order to get a new power cord from the hole in the arch for the TV down to the other small hole under the seat for the power. It appears there is an access panel, but it is partially blocked by the seatback. Any help would be appreciated!
Rob

Yes they do. If you remove a few screws from the underside of the vinyl they will lift up and out. I believe they are in 3 sections. You can then remove the screws that hold the star side to the arch.

Rob, You will find that the access down to the salon from the bridge is behind the access panel behind the AC cabinet to starboard. The white plastic panels that are behind the aft seating on the bridge access the routing to the arch. To access the wire chase to starboard in the salon, remove the bottom screw on either side of the entertainment center cabinet adjacent the glass door hinges. the tv will swing down using the upper screws as the axis of the plywood TV mount.
The fun begins!

Thanks Irie and CD! Got the power cable to the new TV for the arch rerouted this evening and the old one removed. Spent forever trying to figure out why the satellite was not working until i discovered the power switch to the satellite dish right in front of my face next to the stereo was not on! All is good now!

Great news, When my boat was surveyed the radar array was not turning and the broker negotiated a sizable credit to replace the radar. Later we found that the safety service switch on the radar had simply failed. The switch was bypassed and the radar worked flawlessly ever since. Several problems that I thought I had turned out to be "fixed" by just finding how the system actually works:)

So it is the first time we are noticing a little "aroma" after we flush the guest head. Does this boat have a filter element that needs to be changed somewhere? On my old rinker I had to install a "big orange" filter as nothing came stock. Curious if I need to install something. I searched around the engine room for a filter and nothing is apparent.

Yes, there is a filter in your vent line. Tough to reach. It is on the port side of the holding tank. I had to remove the ladder and wedge my head over the exhaust pipe. Good news though...never let it get wet and the last a long time. I use noflex Digestor and mine is pushing 3 years with no issues....

Our last boat was a Rinker 350 and I installed a two cannister Big Orange on it, worked great. I put a big orange OEM in-line filter on the 44DB and change out the activated charcoal each season. I relocated the filter to a more convenient mounting just behind the ladder to make it easier to service.

Mine had an aroma when flushing as well but it was mostly confined to the guest cabin and even when not flushed that faint smell of sewage never really went away. I replaced charcoal filters, duckbills, bowl valve seals, everything I could think of but it was all to no avail. In the end, being an 11 yo boat, I decided to bite the bullet and change the hoses between both toilets and their respective holding tanks. Smells of roses now

I noticed my boat has a backup battery function for starting the genset. One of my thruster batteries is wired to the generator starter and connected via a standalone battery switch.

I was wondering if this was a standard factory fit or an afterthought

I suspect it’s after market. I’m the 3rd owner and I know the previous owner didn’t install it and the first owner was the SR dealer who imported it

It’s possible. I believe the port battery bank that supplies the house also powers the genset starter so perhaps it was an upgrade
