George Floyd

We heard today that some people that have been arrested for the destruction aren’t even from this state. I also see a lot of pre-printed signs, so it’s no longer grass roots.

So I’m here in my backyard, over cooking my pork belly burnt ends (not suppose to be that burnt), drinkin a beer, waiting for my neighbors to come over because we have a curfew, and watching a Blackhawk fly around the area including over my house.

Good times....can’t wait to move.

This is a serious federal issue when outside instigators come in to a hot spot. Hopefully once all their shenanigans are finished the justice department will come clean up the elected and appointed governmental deciders who are currently impotent.
 
It's no longer about George Floyd. It's now an excuse for anarchy. Pittsburgh was out of control tonight. They attacked a couple of TV newscasters and put them in the hospital. They will be ok but were thrown to the ground and kicked and one had his head stomped on.

It’s an organized attempt to destroy civilized society. Problem is the PC media is in on it. They refuse to call this what it is — a riot. Done by rioters. Stop claiming it’s a protest. Clear the streets using whatever means necessary.

She's a woman that likes African American history or do you mean she's a woman of African American ancestry? I can't tell....she doesn't look black to me.
 
Last night on Facebook they were live streaming the protests which started out very well and peaceful for the first few hours. There were a few people on Facebook making comments that it was too boring and they needed to start burning stuff. Those people should be tracked down and charged with inciting a riot, which is what they did. They should also be charged with any injuries or assaults that result from the rioting.

According to the mayor (who is a real moron) and the police chief the protestors were peaceful. It was the outsiders that came in and started getting rowdy and started destroying property. They were also the ones that assaulted the TV reporters. They showed video of the protestors trying to stop them from destroying property. These outsiders (at least the main one they showed) was a white guy but he was all dressed in black with his face covered. They told the reporters to stop filming and leave as their filming was evidence and they were part of the problem.

Hope they figure out who these idiots are and charge them with everything they can and lock them up for a long time, as well as pay restitution.

BTW-my son made it home safe
 
Just watching the morning news and Sacramento had several hot spots last night which turned into looting stores in the newly gentrified downtown area. The police opened fire with rubber bullets firing into the crowd in the direction of thrown objects. The bullets came after the throwing. As expected a teenager is now a victim of police brutality since he was struck in the head and opened a pretty bloody wound. Now the city is being blamed for the injury and not having ambulances standing by to tend to the wounded. Victims were horrified that the cops did not go to the young man's aid when they saw him go to the ground. If the Cops put down their weapons to help the kid they would have been over run and pummeled for sure.
A Reporter ran across a city councilman studying the aftermath this morning and was asked what the city will do to stop this from happening tonight and all the snow flake could come up with is we hope it doesn't happen because there is not much we can do. BS you call out the national guard with water cannon trucks and arrest anyone who gathers in the street after business hours. Funny they strong armed people to stay home to prevent covid, these little pricks are not social distancing during the protests and not a peep about shutting it down. The authorities shut down a popular river front park because they heard there was going to be a party on Saturday. That would have just been a bunch of kids celebrating life after HS Graduation, something positive for a change, No! can't have that but we can't do anything about trouble makers gathering to riot!

You have a tough uphill battle in that town.... unfortunately you see a lot of people leaving these blue cities... not a good future for them...You can see it already as they are all standing inline with their hands out

Interesting.

Some of my ancestors were slaves also. In fact the term 'slave' is derived from 'slav'. Many Slavs of eastern Europe for centuries on/off were captured and enslaved, bought and sold like any other chattel. History is something isn't it...it can remind us that folks of any type have had it real rough at different times. We just need to let history be history, recognize the same mistakes shouldn't be made again, and things would go a bit smoother. I'll remain optimistic but that's hard sometimes.;)
 
When you start calling whites names such as snowflake it is no different that whites calling the blacks ni---r it goes both ways remember that. In regards to the looting and damage it is time to stop using rubber bullets and start taking care of the trouble makers, cleanup the genentic pool of these thieves and trouble makers. FYI check the statistics of what races that have been shot by police you'll be surprised to learn that more whites than blacks. Surprise Surprise. These riots are just a excuse for the young blacks to steal, WHERE ARE YOUR KIDS TONIGHT PARENTS? And where did they get that new computer that they didn't have before? It all starts at the parents level. FYI if these people come into my neighborhood I will get out my bear gun 12 gauge and I WILL clean up some gene pools and I don't care what friggin color they are screw with my property and you will be pushing up flowers.

Not sure if you've seen both videos, the one with the knee on the neck and the other from the store camera, but something went horribly wrong that isn't on either recordings (or has been edited out from the store recording), between being placed in the squad car from the sidewalk across the street, to ending up in the street on his stomach with the knee on his neck. The officers were all wearing body cams as well.

What I find odd in the video with the knee on the neck, was a paramedic was on scene, seconds it seems, after he lost consciousness. Where they called because the suspect was already having an issue? I'm not sure, these are just some things I noticed.

I thought at one point I had an opinion on the matter, but I don't anymore. I would like to see more facts. On one hand, this would have never happened if he wasn't suspected of committing a crime. Also, it looked to go pretty smoothly when he was in handcuffs and removed from his vehicle, then they sat him down against the building and had a discussion. When did it go haywire? However, the video of the guy going limp with a knee on his neck for "5 minutes" is awful and I do feel uncalled for. ....then again, I don't know what happened between the sidewalk and the street. Also, was the guy on a heavy narcotic? So ...I don't know.

As far as the protesting is concerned, I blame the Mayor as well as the media. They both stoked this thing. Mayor Jacob Frey ran on police reform in the city. He has done minimal except to cut the force. That precinct is in one of the most dangerous areas in the city. Mayor Frey also told the police and 1st responders to stand down or "Not to help" during Trump convention last year. A lot of innocent people were assaulted and private/public property destroyed. So now, as expected, some of these thugs have been emboldened because they know they can get away with this. Which brings me to these protests.

Like most on here, I am fine with lawful protests, even if I completely disagree with the message. Heck, I remember as a kid living in Chicago, Nazi clown wannabes marching in Marquette Park. But to justify looting and destroying private property.....not a chance. Some of these shops will never come back because they were already devastated by our Governors shutdown.

I don't want to sound like the Johnny Cash Song "I've been everywhere ", but I've lived in a lot of places because of my dads job. I had the pleasure of living in Orange County CA during the LA Riots. I was a sales manager at a Radio Shack. We lost 21 stores during that time. Some of those areas in LA still haven't recovered and that was almost 20 years ago. Looting, pillaging and destroying your neighborhood will destroy your community, that's already hit hard as it is.

I was a paramedic for 25 years. I can tell you that when incidence beyond routine occur, we immediately do stand-by within a couple blocks to expedite response. That paramedic was there as a standing protocol. It is not indicative of any underlying conspiracy
 
About 75 or so we're standing at the courthouse and along the street today. They were all doing their chant. One got brave and stepped out in front of my truck to show me her sign.

I have duel trumpet air horns under my truck, one long blast and she moved.
 
I just don't understand why we have become so soft. Peaceful protest should be allowed. No problem, we all should join based on what happened. But riots and looting should not be tolerated. What if one mayor had the balls to tell the peaceful protesters to stay home for a night or two and make it clear anyone who rioted or looted would be shot. Once they took a few of these arseholes out, it would stop most of it cold (except for the hard ass cases). Right now there are zero consequences. If the cities can't to the basics of protecting business/property, why would anyone re-invest there? The cities are failing at their most basic function -- protection.

FYI, The term Snowflake in the context that I use it has no racial connotation. It is a term used to poke fun at progressive millennials that need their safe places and cannot handle the slightest criticisms or political in correctness.

I can see why the Blacks in Minnesota might have been pissed at the cops for what happened to Floyd if the cops had tried in the least to slow walk this or shield the dirty cop from prosecution. The police department and city hall acted in record time though to fire the cops and then charge one of them with 3rd degree murder. This should be every thing reasonable people should expect. These rioters around the country are just using this event as an excuse to blow off steam. Too bad they are not protesting the actual crimes against the people such as this over blown corona virus response and the draconian non fact based arbitrary conditions business are forced to adhere too in order to reopen their businesses. These blue state leaders need to wake up and smell the coffee!

I only know of 2 instances of police 'brutality' involving people I know and both 'victims' were white. One is one I mentioned before where he was beaten while handcuffed. The other was an officer cuffed a guy that wouldn't stop running his mouth. Guy had started recording on his phone prior to arrest (yes he was trying to instigate'. Police did not know the phone was recording but there was no video as the phone was laying in the back of the guys truck. Guy was cuffed and threatened after being cuffed and tazed while cuffed. Officer is still working at the same department. Not sure if he was disciplined or not but I guess the victim was suing the city.
