Hey, let's go back to the original scene... A documented racist officer murders a man of color without any provocation and a lot of you want to look past the original sin and go to the crowd reactions... Great, again here we go again... People of color have been treated as less than since we brought slaves over from Africa and we as a country have not acknowledged that ever... Burning the city is not acceptable but what this country has done to people of color and especially black is irresponsible. And to you that try to counter this comment... Fuck off, I have no time for you.
 
I try to use this forum as my happy place for boating but I can't stand by and not inject my feelings as a white privileged male married to a beautiful woman of African American history...

BREAKING NEWS. Minneapolis police precinct is burning. Total chaos! Bring in the military. The officials there have lost all control.
 
I feel the same as El Capitan those thugs wouldn't stand a chance here either I have a 181/2 inch bear gun with sights and a supply of 50 cal saboted slugs and dbl odd buckshot that is used for brown bear protection and like El Capitan I know how to use it. The cops need to put away their rubber bullets and trade for real ones and use them. This isn't the first time these thugs have done this do you remember Watts well the same crap happened there and ended as soon as the national guard came in and started shooting the looters and people setting fires need to do the same here. And remember the news doesn't want for people to know the truth about this guy they like all this distruction its news for them. JUST SHOOT THE BASTARDS. But in consideration to the man that has died the policeman should be charged and the rest of the group charged with compliance, it would be right thing to do.

Unfortunately their are a few racist cops....racist doctors, racist sales people, racist restaurant workers.... racist whites, racist blacks, racist Hispanics, racist......

I would be willing to bet my life on the fact that most police officers across the country are their to do good for all their citizens regardless of race or social class and care care less about the color of someones skin.

This police officer should be prosecuted for his stupid actions. And and the same time the people of MN should not be tearing apart a community. These actions will only increase racial tensions among people in the country.
 
The picture of the cop kneeling on the guys neck is disturbing to me.
The rioting, looting and destruction of property is disturbing to me too.
Even more disturbing to me is the race baiting.
Bad cops and bad people come in all colors.

Good morning.

My neighborhood stinks of building fires. I could see the hazy smoke rolling through my yard. I drove through my St. Paul village on the way to the office and the liquor store, mini-target, Verizon, are all being boarded up. The Jewelry store that was hit yesterday is already boarded up. I'm probably going to work 1/2 day at the office and then head home.

There were helicopters flying over my house as well as sirens going on until 5 am this morning and then things miraculously were quiet with only the stench of building fires. Sleeping sucked. I have to believe we will have a weekend of this because the weather is going to be perfect. This was my weekend to prep the boat, but now I don't want to bring it home and have it vandalized.

As far as protecting my family, yes, I have the ability, however I refuse to insert myself into a situation. If you want to burn my car down, I guess, burn it down. I have insurance. Entering my household to harm my family, that's a different story. I am one of those who doesn't sleep with a sidearm next to my bed. All of my firearms and ammo are locked in a humidity controlled safe.

Listening to the scanner last night, I have to say that these 1st responders did the best they could with the resources they had. The Fire departments couldn't get in to put out fires because rioters (not protesters) where destroying engines and harming the firefighters. The Ramsey County PD didn't have enough officers to protect them while getting pelted with rocks, bottles, etc. There were multiple reports of firearms. These teams were stretched extremely thin in Ramsey. Ramsey county is not Hennipen county where the 3rd precinct burned to the ground, so I could only imagine how far they were stretched under their current leadership (or lack there of). So there were two fronts happening.

God bless these responders on the front lines right now. I don't know how these people can handle it. It really makes me reflect and feel grateful for their service.....I was extremely sad for our cities last night..........and before the goofballs get triggered and lose their collective minds, I am not talking about the .01% of bad cops, and I don't believe anyone is on this forum.

Speaking as a retired cop, I think the cops that were involved in that arrest should all be prosecuted for some level of homicide. The cop with his knee on Mr. Floyd's neck murdered him, plain and simple. Did he intend to murder Floyd? Not likely, but it happened.

The other cops who stood by and allowed the first cop to keep his knee on Floyd's neck were also complicit in his death and should be dealt with accordingly.

I'm old enough to remember clearly the riots in Detroit in 1967. And Watts, Baltimore, etc., etc.

IIRC, all of those stemmed from the unjustified killing of an African American man by a white police officer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a bleeding heart liberal. Quite the opposite, but this crap has to stop.
 
Based on what we know and have seen he should be charged with murder.... why hasn’t he?
I have a feeling there is more to the story
