o_ONo excuse for killing that man. It’s a crime.

But it’s no excuse to riot and pillage.

I’m mayor of that town the water cannon truck convoy is on the way and rubber bullets locked and loaded.

Let’s see the snowflakes run now. o_O

If it had been a white man that died there would be no rioting or even a news flash, way over reaction by a bunch of rebel rousers. Then when they started looting stores it's time to put away the rubber bullets and get out the real ones theres no excuse for stealing. Shoot them all!!!

I live in the area and it's a sad deal all around.

Not sure if you've seen both videos, the one with the knee on the neck and the other from the store camera, but something went horribly wrong that isn't on either recordings (or has been edited out from the store recording), between being placed in the squad car from the sidewalk across the street, to ending up in the street on his stomach with the knee on his neck. The officers were all wearing body cams as well.

What I find odd in the video with the knee on the neck, was a paramedic was on scene, seconds it seems, after he lost consciousness. Where they called because the suspect was already having an issue? I'm not sure, these are just some things I noticed.

I thought at one point I had an opinion on the matter, but I don't anymore. I would like to see more facts. On one hand, this would have never happened if he wasn't suspected of committing a crime. Also, it looked to go pretty smoothly when he was in handcuffs and removed from his vehicle, then they sat him down against the building and had a discussion. When did it go haywire? However, the video of the guy going limp with a knee on his neck for "5 minutes" is awful and I do feel uncalled for. ....then again, I don't know what happened between the sidewalk and the street. Also, was the guy on a heavy narcotic? So ...I don't know.

As far as the protesting is concerned, I blame the Mayor as well as the media. They both stoked this thing. Mayor Jacob Frey ran on police reform in the city. He has done minimal except to cut the force. That precinct is in one of the most dangerous areas in the city. Mayor Frey also told the police and 1st responders to stand down or "Not to help" during Trump convention last year. A lot of innocent people were assaulted and private/public property destroyed. So now, as expected, some of these thugs have been emboldened because they know they can get away with this. Which brings me to these protests.

Like most on here, I am fine with lawful protests, even if I completely disagree with the message. Heck, I remember as a kid living in Chicago, Nazi clown wannabes marching in Marquette Park. But to justify looting and destroying private property.....not a chance. Some of these shops will never come back because they were already devastated by our Governors shutdown.

I don't want to sound like the Johnny Cash Song "I've been everywhere ", but I've lived in a lot of places because of my dads job. I had the pleasure of living in Orange County CA during the LA Riots. I was a sales manager at a Radio Shack. We lost 21 stores during that time. Some of those areas in LA still haven't recovered and that was almost 20 years ago. Looting, pillaging and destroying your neighborhood will destroy your community, that's already hit hard as it is.

Anyway, this sucks.......

Once cuffed (and didn't appear to be resisting) why wasn't he placed in the back of the squad car? My Dad is a retired LEO, so I am very pro police, but something stinks here. No excuse to riot though. I wonder if they will have an uptick of COVID cases in the area in 2 weeks.

I've heard the police were called because 'a forgery was in progress', but also that he tried using a counterfeit $20. Ending up dead over either of those seems a bit too stiff.

The cop kneeling on the guys neck made some comment about George Floyd being a 'tough guy'. Pretty obvious he was dishing out some learnin' for some reason, deserved or not.

They say all the officers involved wore cameras and they were on. I'd sure like to see/hear what went on during that few minute gap. Regardless...he was handcuffed from the start, they had control.

I gotta see Floyd do a viscous head butt and a cop with a messed up face or something....otherwise it's going to be another law enforcement fail where the 20 make the 80 look bad.

Just my .02 of course.

If you watch the store cam video, you see the back of the squad door open (sidewalk side), then you see some head movement, and then mysteriously the footage is stopped. This is what the media has put out.

I don't expect you to suffer through this, but I cannot believe this guy is Mayor of the largest city in MN.

After his statement and the beginning of questions from the media, he states that he is "seeking charges". When pressed about the details, he said that he is not in the position to "define murder". (paraphrasing)

At 3:44 ..he then stated, "Me commenting on evidence or a specific charge would inhibit the investigation........" You just did you dope!

Then at 10:40 - he is asked if he has seen any other evidence and he stated; "I have not seen any evidence beyond what you have seen".....WTF?

14:50 kills me as well - describing a white officer apprehending a "victim" (I'm paraphrasing)

As I mentioned in my last post, I don't have an opinion on the officers judgement nor the suspects, just many questions....but I do have an opinion on a MAYOR inserting himself into an investigation, which is clearly to score political points, when he has seen no evidence. He is fanning the flames which is pathetic. I believe he is a major contributor to why the things are the way they are now in Minneapolis.

Pandering to the black vote. But what has that Mayor done for the plight of minorities in his city?

When will minorities learn that it’s the liberals that continue to enslave them.

Right after Emancipation blacks remained slaves in Texas for two years simply because the news hadn’t reached. When it did, many chose to remain enslaved for fear of the unknown and fear of the implications of sudden freedom.

@OllieC - I made a similar point today....Why with all the technology, surveillance cameras, video cameras, and body cams, do we have such edited, blocked, muted videos that don't even show what escalated this...

I'm in no way defending the officer nor his actions, but I'd sure like to know why he was on the ground to begin with...

This was a 6'-6" felon that served 5 years for armed home invasion...plus, I understand some other run-ins with the law...This is conveniently left out of the narrative as they want to paint him as the pilar of society...I'm disgusted by what I saw in the video and I have no understanding as to why that officer kept his knee on his neck, but I still want to understand the full scope of the event and the narrative of racial officers doesn't sit well with me... I could just as easily see a white guy ending up with the same fate depending on his actions, just perhaps not being videoed...

Well, I have an update. Sounds like looters and rioter are making their way to my neighborhood. The jewelry store three blocks away just got hit. All the local stores in my village in St Paul are boarding up. We’re locked up in the house listening to the scanner. The majority of activity is north of us about 15 minutes by the new Alianz Field. Gunshots have been fired multiple times and multiple buildings have been set on fire. Sounds like fire is doing the best they can.

I doubt they will enter the neighborhoods if they decide to hit our village later. My neighbors and I are on alert.

Did I mention this sucks....God bless and watch over these first responders. They’re taking a lot of needless shit right now.

I own a Mossberg 500 w pistol grip. The sound of the pump action alone will deliver my message to those antifa lovin Soros funded snowflakes.

I hope you’re safe.

It’s appalling what is going on...to destroy your community and personal property is disgusting.. where are the police?.... I am watching a car burning and someone has time to throw a mattress on it... it’s embarrassing for Minneapolis and our country....very sad.

El Capitan, may I offer a humble piece of advice? You are projecting your value system onto thugs, many of whom have stared down the barrel of a gun many times. You had better have the mindset that you will pull the trigger without hesitation, otherwise these street hardened thugs will recognize your hesitancy and take your shotgun away from you.

BTW, how many rounds do you have through that pistol-gripped Mossberg? My advice is to put a real stock on it, it will be much more controllable and you are less likely to suffer a sprained wrist.

So whenever someone asks "why do you need an AR 15" this is it right here. Good luck man.

Hope you stay safe....awful situation and reaction... but also disappointed in the police protecting us and our property.... self defending shouldn’t be the answer every time stuff goes sideways

I would prefer a folding stock on that along with the pistol grip.

I also would already have it charged when you point it at someone. In tight quarters, like in your house, someone could rush you and take it before you chamber a shell.

hehehe... that will never happen.

But they can try. :D

I have already made my decision to pull the trigger. It’s not an if for me. It’s not an only when....either. I’m prepared right now, no warning, just pull. You have to have made that decision way early in your thinking. There is no hesitation because there is no criteria. You show up you take it in the chest/ center mass, at least once. Nobody else is sticking around after that.

The reason I went wo a stock was intentional. I can maneuver faster in tight quarters and it’s much easier to perform 360’s in my hallways. I have an old colonial w narrow hallways.

I can pump and fire in one second per shot 6 times plus one in the chamber. It won’t take more than one dude taking it in the chest to convince other thugs to run.

None of those morons are the type to rush an active shooter.

I’ve installed high intensity lights all around my house mounted high on the second floor, my entire property lights up like a flying saucer. I can high speed strobe it to visually impede an approaching intruder. By the time he regains sight he’ll be bleeding.

I’m level 4 Krav Maga. Nobody is disarming me.

I have three dogs.

A bird doesn’t fly through my yard without me knowing about it.

I sleep great.

Pray it doesn't come to this but I sure hope you have a way to protect your self and your property, it is times like this that may find that the authorities won't be able to keep you safe. Hence the importance of our 2nd amendment. Stay safe

Watching news right now. Looks like police have left the precinct and the mob is trying to get into the police station. Wonderful.
