Hoping to get something small enough to somehow rig it onto rear step for storage and maybe even while cruising.
Has anybody done this?

We kept a 10' inflatable Bris boat on our platform with a 9.9hp outboard on it. 1st year we just hauled it on and tied it up with ropes. 2nd year I got some davits to be a little easier hauling it up and tying it down. It was Ok for 2 of us to be able to haul it onboard.

Thanks That sounds exactly what I am hoping to do. Were you able to keep there while cruising?

Lots of people carry dinghies on 320’s. I wouldn’t go bigger than a 10ft though. Also go with aluminum hull ..they’re lighter than Fiberglas and you definitely want rigid. Way more stable. We have a Zodiac 300 (10ft) with a 20hp motor on the back of our 340. The dinghy weighs 250lbs all in. The system we have came with the boat and while it’s fantastic, it’s very pricey. Hurley Davits are much more affordable and could work as well. Had we not had this hydraulic system on the boat already, we likely would have gone with a Hurley system.

That is a really nice set up. Thanks

This is how I carried a dingy on my AJ using Weaver davits and a platform motor mount. The platform was pretty short.
