Memorial Day weekend we will be on PIB...restaurants open. What do you do?... are you ready to go back into restaurants... avoid them...social distancing....stay home?

Here we are saying we need to reopen... but is everyone really ready....or hesitating now that it’s here ?

I just got back from the treasure coast in Florida. You’d barely know anything was going on except w restaurants.
Beaches open, boat ramps packed, good traffic on roads, some distancing but nobody crazy like wearing a mask while in their car driving.

Flights were 70% full. Airport crowds moderate and I would say 50% wearing masks.

My bet is we’re going to ramp up but some remain afraid, some ignorant, some not concerned but will be cautious and distance.

I’m not wearing a mask nor gloves. I’ve shaken hands. Stood 3-4ft away from people while briefly chatting. Disinfecting my hands w sanitizer constantly. Spending most my time outdoors and grilling enjoying steaks, burgers, beer, wine and women... eh I mean my wife. :D

I’ll be in Florida again next week and plan on going to my favorite restaurants... and the beaches where the women wear strings as bikinis.

After seeing your earlier post about PIB, noticing that they have a plan with definite dates to get rolling, it is tempting. NY has extended its “pause” until June 6th, so that means no bars or restaurants for the holiday. We usually go to Tonawanda for Memorial Day to get away from the cold lake breezes, may do that just to social distance on the docks, soak up some sun (hopefully) and order some take out. At least we’ll be on the boat.

You can run but I am certain you can’t hide from it unless u actually lock down in your home, then everything you have delivered needs to be sanitized.
We are going to use common sense and carry on. People forget that every day is a blessing, even before this #19.
Can’t wait to go eat at my favorite places here. Man wasn’t made to be locked down. Not sure I am willing to wait in line since they are going to be limited to 30% capacity.

Doesn't matter if they open soon or not.. We won't be going to any restaurants or bars. At my ripe old age and with a diminished immune system I can't think of a meal that's worth taking a chance on picking up the virus.

IMHO at some point common sense has to come into play here.

I agree with GFC. Common sense would go a long way to helping the numbers to continue to decline here in GA. Governor was highly criticized for starting to slowly reopen 2-weeks ago, but the numbers continue to decline. We would love to go into a restaurant and enjoy a meal, but not just yet. The Admiral had cancer 10 years ago and no need to test her immune system.

Dr. Fauci on casual hookup sex: “If you’re willing to take a risk — and you know, everybody has their own tolerance for risks — you could figure out if you want to meet somebody"...“If you want to go a little bit more intimate, well, then that’s your choice regarding a risk.” https://nypost.com/2020/04/15/fauci-endorses-tinder-hookups-with-a-caveat/

So my tolerance for risk is doing everything while wearing a mask. Shopping in stores not a problem. Hand sanitizer in my pocket when needed. Restaurants also not a problem.

It seems we're all gonna get it sooner or later. My precautions, other than mask and sanitizer, are to load up on vitamin C & D, eat healthy foods (including my daily quinine mixer & fruit juice coctail), and avoid watching the fear-mongering TV/cable news, or radio news. That is all the TV/cable news & radio news outlets.

Yeah people can be a-holes. But who orders ice cream an hour early on-line. Our local Dairy Queen’s have been open throughout this. Just can’t stay on premises and eat even though it’s outside. Many people just eat it in there cars in the parking lot.

It’s a well known fact your immune system weakens by staying inside and you’re more susceptible to illness and spreading by sequestering indoors.
One of the best things you can do is be outside in fresh air, active, sunshine, moving around.

Those locking themselves indoors are hurting themselves.

We've gone to our local DQ a couple of times and gotten stuff to go. It's nice to be able to do that.

Yesterday, for our "pre-Mother's Day" dinner we drove an hour to Yakima and went to Miner's restaurant. It's a well known place that always served the best burgers and onion rings. Yesterday we were totally disappointed in the meal.

Two burgers and an order of rings was over $30. They have drastically increased their prices!

When we got the order, the meat was just warm, not hot, and the buns were cold. The onion rings were OK but the rest of the meal was soooo disappointing..

Miner's has been one of those go-to place for decades. To see how it had gone downhll was so sad.

The upset stomachs we both had last night was just more evidence that we won't be back. And that's sad because as restaurants are fighting to survive, they have lost their touch while increasing prices.

Indoor dining is going to be risky until a vaccine is developed or the virus fades into the background. At least for folks in their later years.

I've never cared for Miners. We had a talk about them a couple of months ago at work with guys that live in the area, and it was everyone's consensus that they've gone down hill.

My wife and I will hold off eating in a restaurant for the time being. But we WILL be on the SR for a week during Memorial Day.

I believe the same thing.
I’ve tried to spend a good portion of any day that it isn’t cold or raining outside in the fresh air. I’ll usually spend it washing or waxing one of the cars in my driveway, or the boat down at my dock.
Got the bikes out of the shed and in useable shape the other day and hope to start riding an hour or so a day.
It’s bad enough that the gym has been closed for nearly two months now, but being totally locked inside can’t be healthy.
The more I’m inside, the more trips to the kitchen for snacks.
I’ve put on at least 10 lbs since this all started.
I’ll try to avoid catching a cold or something and lowering my 66 year old and compromised immune system by staying indoors if it’s cold or raining.
Unfortunately, we’ve had a crappy spring this year with a lot of rain and cold weather.
