Does anyone like showering in their wet head?

The separate shower was my wife’s most important “must have” when we were shopping for our current boat.
100% agree. Was very high on my list too.

We ended up with this.

Even with the full wet head on prior boats - it was never an issue. A quick wipe down with a microfiber towel afterwards and the head is sparkling clean!

I've never wiped down my head. Ever.

After showering I put a small fan in front of the door and go make a drink. It's dry in no time.

We found that a 6 gallon water heater was very good at making hot water about as fast as you could use it. The shower head is restricted so water goes into the heater faster than it comes out of the shower head. I never felt like hot water was going to run out although you could tell the temp was starting to cool toward the end of a good steamy hot shower. By the time you dried off and got dressed, the tank had recovered to the point that next person could do the same thing and not run out of hot water.

Last one of the night squeegees it down and a fan somtimes. Always showered onboard and never at marinas. Lived on her for 5 months back in 2013 doing the Great Loop. And after 10 years, wouldn't do it different.

What about the items you have in the cabinets do they get wet?

Close the cabinet doors? Take the TP off the roller holder and put in cabinets with doors closed? Or if bold enough get cockpit naked with wife and soap down and use transom shower in full view of other boats doing same.
For instructions see bikini thread.

When I had my 340 I used to shower on the platform occasionally...with swim trunks on. I always had three options on that boat - 1.) wet head, 2.) walk to marina to shower, 3.) use the swim platform shower. For 3 years I was 80% marina, 10% platform, 10% head.

I love the seperate shower, since buying the boat we have been 100% shower on the boat. I have never used the showers at our current marina, though nice and convenient…

We had a wet head on the 300WE. We'd use it very occasionally and it didn't getting anything in the cabinets wet but you had to wipe the whole place down after every shower.

We loved the separate shower/head arrangement of the 420. First time I was truly comfortable showering on the boat without being claustrophobic. We had a second wet head in the back. It was very convenient as a guest bathroom but we never used it as a shower. Our guests would just use the forward one.

Exactly our set-up.

We just started using the separate shower on the 380. The marina we went to 2 weekends ago had a disgusting bathroom setup so we decided to shower on the boat.

Overall I like it. I don't wipe down afterwards, I simply take the sprayer and spray the walls down at the end.

I have always used the shower on all of my boats. I hate public anything ...

But one of the reasons I like this boat I have now is the head is like one in a house for the most part. I put a speaker in the head and one in the stateroom so we can listen to music while getting ready. I find it most relaxing that way instead of the public thing.

When we had our 300 Weekender with the wet head shower, there were a few marinas where "we" would shower together... It was not an unpleasant "experience".

We used to squeege the walls on the showers. About 3 months ago, a dock mate told us of using the daily shower spray instead like we do at home. We started using it and it works very well and no more wiping down everything. Spray and go.

I have used the wet head 1/2 a dozen times now. Works very good, I’m 5’10 and a little thick. My Marina showers are a bit of a hike from the slip so onboard appeals to me. Having served 21 years in the Navy it’s second nature when out on the lake. Water heater keeps up well while on power or genset. Getting ready to repipe the engine water to it so we’ll see.
