On a positive note I just read an article on a new trial drug called Remdesivir that is showing positive result for treating covid 19 patients. If true, get busy making tons of the stuff so we can get back to being healthy and enjoying life:D

I am starting to wonder how good these tests are. They where approved quickly. Are the giving false positives?

It wasn't a controlled study. But Trump didn't push it so it must be good.

Look up the Stanford Antibody test that came out just this morning. Their conclusions are that there’s 50-85x more cases in the US than what are reported and that the death rate is like the flu 0.12-0.2 percent
 
Is it lost on anybody that the socialists that really pushed for these draconian measures may have been testing the masses for how compliant we would all be to government orders? I see complete idiot sheeple walking around out side in the fresh California spring air. It’s the cleanest it has been in a century or two and they have their faces covered simply because it’s been suggested by ‘experts’ that they should. I guess they are figuring that when told we will all just leave our guns and bullets out on the door step to be collected too! I am assuming that anyone actually wearing a mask as described earlier doesn’t actually own a gun anyway. Just the musings of a bored old fart.

I checked our county corona virus dashboard today. 141 total cases, 39 total hospitalizations, since the inception, 25 currently active cases with 16 in hospital, two deaths. This in a county of 700,000 people 50 miles from San Francisco with I-80 running right thru the middle. I have a hard time believing that with improved sanitation practices and a little distancing we will have a surge if we all got back to work. The dems should be happy with the chaos they caused but no Pelosi has to stall additional PPP funding in order to stay in the lime light!
I know, I know, preaching to the choir!
But isn’t that what we all are really doing anyway?

I have had a chance to review a couple package inserts from some of the Serology assays and it looks like false negatives are more likely as sensitivity appears to average about 80% and specificity is closer to 100%. There are a number of new tests from the major diagnostic manufactures releasing over the next couple weeks that will run on high volume immunoassay systems. This should dramatically increase testing capacity.

I'd be curious about California and flu-like deaths during the months of December, January and February that were not categorized as the Wuhan virus, because testing wasn't available. I find it hard to believe that CA wasn't an epicenter with all of the airports in CA used as a layover point to and from China. Plus it was the Chinese New Year in January where travel was huge, not including vacationers going to Disneyland and taking in a Lakers game.
