Repower question

Maybe don't be hell bent on a brand new motor.
There are a lot of mid to late 2000's 4 strokes that will fix the fuel burn and noise issues.
I have a 19 World Cat (Angler Power Cat) that had a 2001 FITCH 150 Evinrude on it. The engine is a POS, but the boat is really comfortable, and I can go when the 30 foot mono hulls are turning around. So, I am in the hunt for a 4 stroke Yamaha, Merc or Suzuki. We've got guys here in Florida who make a good living getting blown motors and rebuilding them to way over good enough. I'm looking at 5-7 grand instead of 13-15K.

That's a great ideal and I thought the same I've been keeping my eye out for a while but the problem is with older four strokes is weight. I'm going to run my motor one more year hopefully something pops up without a lot of hours on it.

If good financial decisions were a prerequisite none of us would have a boat. Just factor in your enjoyment and gofer it.

Weight? by what? One more person near the stern? I'm sure I can't dead lift a 200 Max.
Not a lot of hours is not the goal. Zero hours on a new rebuild is. Keep looking. I had a 19 Laguna. Brick Shite House. Worth another life. If I didn't already have 8, she would still be in the fleet. Gave it up for the Cat. Just bottom painted the Aqua Sport today.

Stay tuned.... I also had to replace a trim tab actuator.

Nice! I did finally find a 4 stroke yammie 2017. High hours (900), but meticulously cared for. It was on a rental pontoon boat, which could not afford to not run perfect. All service records. I'm happy.

Looks great. You finally did it. Did you get anything for the old motor at all?

My push to repower was the black max selling on ebay for $5600. I would have never thought it would go for that type of money.
