Most news sources report that inmates with "low-level" crimes are being released, not "rapists and murderers."

@boatman37 I see it the same way.

I agree with all of the statements about the rights afforded by the constitution, but with those rights come responsibilities, whether expressed or not.

We all have the responsibility as citizens to act in a way that won't endanger other citizens. Whether the law states it or not, that is incumbent on each of us in our society. Frankly, in my opinion, it is also immoral to act in a way that endangers other people. There is the law, there is your religion (or not), and then there is just doing the right thing.

Just because we have a right doesn't mean we should exercise it in every circumstance. I know that won't be a popular opinion in our self-centered world.

This is the time to think and act outside of our individual needs and act in a way that protects our society as a whole.

Not that I don’t have a healthy skepticism of the W.H.O and the CDC, because I do.

Their guidelines are that if you are NOT sick and symptomatic and you are practicing 6ft distancing the mask is not needed.

Using the mask may increase you chance of capturing the virus. Increases your touching your face and can in fact hold on to virus droplets. This guidance excludes healthcare workers and first responders.

In addition and what surprised me is that they are now saying the data is not supporting that healthy people wearing masks prevents getting the virus.

The way most are infected is by hands to face transport. People wearing masks touch the mask and face more and even w gloves you can give yourself the virus.

Somebody here asked or suggested the virus is also airborne.

I am starting to believe this. Especially seeing trucks in Spain and China spraying in the air like you see mosquito truck sprayers in summer.

The seasonal flu is not airborne.
We don’t shut down or socially distance and isolate for the flu which kills thousands every year.

My #1 question now is, is this virus airborne?

That's me in my Tin foil hat. I think they are lying about how it's spread (or they don't know). The reaction to people outside who aren't 6 feet away from each other tells me that.

I kind of think along the same lines as you with that question ,airborne or not? Saw those videos months ago with the spraying in China . If it is airborne what kind of protocol could we expect? It would probably create tremendous panic , you would probably see social breakdown the paranoia will be out of control. If we’re struggling to provide proper equipment for the healthcare workers, there would be absolutely no way to provide people with the necessary equipment to just get food and basic necessities for the family on a daily basis . Might be a factor why they’re not confirming it that way. Just got notified of two elderly people in our yacht club that are now in the hospital together with COVID-19 spoke to the gentleman yesterday and he’s pretty sure for the last 2 1/2 weeks he’s been in his house ultra careful he’s questioning how he got it as well

I think it's a bad idea to release inmates. They are probably in the safest place right now. When a new member comes in 'quarantine' them for 14 days in isolation and no visitors are allowed in. It has also been proven that inmates cannot follow rules (hence why they are there in the first place). Do you think they will obide by the voluntary 'house arrest' that everyone else is under?

Our Governor is closing all liquor stores beginning at 8 pm this evening. Does he not realize people will drive to the neighboring states.

I would say they were lying, they would say they were trying to not instill panic in the population. My position is you tell the truth and then deal with the consequences. Yes, I believe the guidance would have been different from the beginning if we had inventory of masks...That's also a situation that I put squarely on their shoulders, as well as the states and hospitals...If you're in the admin. medical profession and you don't plan for a scenario that you absolutely know will happen at some point, you're in the wrong job....

Actually, I'm sure I'm on record here on this issue in my very early posts trying to get the community here to wear masks.

3M makes 400 million masks a year in the US. That's 7.6 million per week. Honeywell is adding capacity. I hope these hoarders and gougers get stuck with a lot of junk masks.
 
I bought masks made by a local Mennonite quilt shop today.

Nicely done with a pocket sewn in for a filter. Best I could find.

$4.50 apiece, 5 for $20.00

Canada made it illegal to resell medical supplies and cleaning materials to disinfect at inflated prices. Hundreds of sellers on Amazon and Ebay were removed as sellers.
