Any cutting slip prices by Marinas yet?

I'm confused on all of this as well. How is it that some are open and some closed - all in the same vicinity? And while I understand the physical distancing thing, there normally isn't a group of people around me while I'm waxing or touching up the bottom paint. Its the exact opposite! Most avoid me during these tasks (if you know what I mean)! Will be an exciting spring.

We are on the Ohio River near the greenup Ky dam. Marina is on the Ohio
Side. Was there today and they said water will be on Monday.
Operating normally! Great

Our marina maintains the state and DEC boats so they are open. My boat goes in on Wed and I checked yesterday and they said they were on schedule.

Rob

Where are you out of?

Spent most of yesterday afternoon unwrapping mine and puttering around in the fresh air. Boatyard was busy, but nobody in anything near close proximity.

JVM,

I'm at the Anchorage.

That’s a nice place and great location!
If I didn’t buy my dock property I would have bought in there.
I’m about a mile west of you on the Venice Canal and winter at LaSala in Copiague.

We've been there a while but for the last 10 years kept my Grady 263 on the high and dry. We bought a slip on "D" dock backing the bay for the 360DA.

Nice! A wise investment.
You’re probably not going to see a lot of price appreciation on the slip itself in years to come, but the savings in docking, storage and being able to do your own maintenance will add up quickly with your 360.
I was looking to buy in there myself a dozen or so years ago, but jumped on my dock property when it came available instead.
Buying my dock was the best boating related decision I’ve ever made.

Thanks. My wife really wanted to be on "D" dock and those slips don't come up for sale that often so we jumped on it. They are usually the most desirable as rentals as well. I still have the Grady (1998 never bottom painted) on the high and dry there.

You have a great spot.
Smart move!
You have to be ready to go and willing to pay when the right thing comes along.
Did the same when my dock property popped up for sale.
Agreed on a price, cash deal and closed two days later.
Seller was thrilled.
I know a few guys who have been waiting for the right spot to come available on my canal for years.

Agreed. We’re really looking forward to this summer.

Stay safe!

My marina turned the water on today, planning on washing the dust off and warming the motors up saturday, and staying the night, have t done that since late October

They are essential - to our mental stability!! :)
Thoughts and prayers go out to all those in the health care industry in this forum. Marinas being closed is small compared to what they are going thru...

It's supposed to be 62 and sunny this Friday in West Michigan. That's not going to help those of us locked up in non-essential marinas :(

My marina is located in a Illinois State Park and our governor has closed all Illinois State Parks. So we are closed at least until April 30 (Governors current quarantine date) before Skipper Buds can even start completing scheduled repairs or launching boats.

Yeah. All barricaded. Can't even get close to the boat to check on it. Sux.

I’d be shocked if this lasts into July. And if it does we will have much, much bigger problems.

If they get boats in by Memorial Day it’s business as usual. Beyond that and it could get weird.

If you read between the lines of what the President and Veep say during the daily briefing it could very well last that long. They have gone from talking about getting things going by 4/15 to moving the date to 4/30. Yesterday Pence spoke about by Memorial Day we will have a better understanding. The Michigan apex is still weeks away. The experts are now referring to the fall when the virus is expected to return again in parts of the world. They speak about this in the context of having a vaccine available by then and being better prepared to handle the disease. All of this strongly suggests they really don't know when we will be back to a more normal situation. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we have a boating season in Michigan this year. Right now it looks like a long shot to me.

The model they are referencing shows Michigan apex in 7-9 days.

Our Governor said yesterday that it is probably 4 weeks away. Some epidemiologists are saying longer. We will find out soon enough. My point was experts don't know for sure. I believe that is still the case.

If our Marina (Safe Harbor Belle Maer) stays closed well into the Summer and boating season is cancelled. They can consider my September Association Dues paid in full....
