Who's NOT boating this season due to COVID?

They finally turned the water on at my marina 2 weeks ago. I have pressure washed the boat, canvas and treated said canvas with 303...The Puget Sound is calling me to go social distance myself !!!

I am definitely boating this year. I took my son out on a little ride around the harbor last week. Our marina is open and they are currently doing haul outs beginning April 1st. I’m planning to Do annual haul out sometime in April ..granted social distancing practices are in force.

We did have a 3 week trip planned for July through the BC Gulf Islands and US San Juans. That might change depending as we had several resort stays along the way as well. Likely will change the US (San Juan) portion of the trip and stick to the Canadian islands instead. Might also find ourselves more in anchorages with nice beaches instead of any marina/resorts.

Great picture!

I just finished all my winter maintenance and took out for a run yesterday. All good. No one on my boat but me and the wife. We boat yar round so I don't need to splash. Stay home and stay safe.

Like what ?.... :) Be safe everyone

Like keeping yourself inside to do the socially responsible thing. It's about flattening the curve. You do that by staying locked up.

I know many aren't involved in the medical industry, but for those that are, they have a much better understanding of the situation.

As long as we are allowed out we will have our boat in the slip. Currently the county that our marina is in is on lockdown. We don't live in that county so not sure what the rule is on going TO that county but if they are on lockdown it probably isn't a good idea to go there. But if it is opened up then we will be spending time on it. Our marina holds about 50 boats and we are at the far end of the one dock (as you can see in my pic). We typically either hang on the boat in the slip or go anchor by ourselves so either way we aren't near anyone

So being out in open air on your boat isn't safe?? I guess sitting on my screen porch isn't safe either?? LOL

The marina where I store and splash usually opens on April 15 but today the owner told me that she’ll probably postpone a week or two. No problem as I’m allowed to go on the property to polish and prep.

The marina where I slip is village operated on state land and so far looks like it will open. I have to pay my dock fee balance by April 30th and usually splash the first week of May or so.

My dilemma is whether to unwrap only to have not launched and pay to re-wrap in the fall.

Ether way I have a runabout that will enable us to get out in the wind and spray.

State of Michigan marinas are closed until at least May 15th. I'm in a municipal facility which will likely follow the state schedule whatever that turns out to be. Our season doesn't really begin until June anyway so it's way too early for any decisions at this point. If/when the marina opens, I'll be there. If facilities remain closed, I'll remain in storage and finish my list of improvements.

Man, I feel for you northern guys, I'm in the water 24/7, thank god for that.....

Don't feel sorry for us. We love putting our boats away. We get tired of stupid boating all time. Boating all season would suck. Well crap lying didn't help me at all. I thought I would feel better about it sitting on the hard. NOT.....:D:D:D

I was kidding for the most part....this time of year I am only focused on getting the boat in the water.... been doing it for years....
Right now myself and my employees are going to work as an essential business ordered by the government... so its a bit confusing ….stay at home....no ..get up and go to work.... I have two nurses as daughters and my wife works Part time in a pediatricians office... stay at home ….no ..get up and go to work.

Trump touched on it the other day.... Do you shut the whole country down or let parts back open.... I wouldn't open a bar in New York right now but I would allow landscapers to work in Indiana.... and like Illinois I would allow Marinas to be open....not downtown Chicago but in no where Ohio....why not ?

I get it....its better to shelter in place ….but for how long and at what cost?

I like the rest....I look forward to storing it and I look forward to bringing it out of storage....

lol thats funny!

I have been using my boat way more! I have been social distancing my self for weeks on it now. I'm off for a least 60 days from work so what else to do?
I haven't been back to the dock in over a week! Tomorrow I will cause the winds are supposed to pick up for about a day then I will be back out. I love living on the boat. Haven't been around anyone except for my parents last week. I'll top off the fluids and pump out the tank and back out after the wind. Funny thing my fishing skills are not a lot better yet. I'll have to work on that more!

Oh hell no. We’re moving back to Florida and if you wanna find me I’ll be at a sandbar or island on the intercostal.
Look for the hairy white guy smoking a cigar.
