So ordered a gallon of Presta Gel Coat through Wal Marts site Wednesday evening. Said it was coming from Beach Audio and I would receive it April 3rd. Well it showed up today. Wow! Impressed.

Used Presta Gel Coat before and loved it. If you are looking for some and come across Beach Audio don't be afraid to submit the order. I paid $88.08 for 1 gallon

Nice! Hoping to pick up some of their ultra polish locally Monday. A body shop supply place usually has it. Hope they’re open,

The Gel Coat might be a little more than I need since our boat has a pretty good shine already. A good polish and wax might be all I need but will see how it goes.

That’s good stuff but don’t compound if your finish isn’t chalky or oxidized.

I know folks that use compound to shine a non oxidized finish and all they’re really doing is removing mils of their finish.

There is slight oxidation above the rubrail at the bow. That's about it. The Presta stuff starts out a little gritty then gets smoother as you go and ends as a polish. Used it on my Sea Ray and it worked great but it had more oxidation then the Crownline for sure.

I compounded one side of my boat today with Presta Gel Coat after I washed and degreased it. Then finished it off with Collinite 925. Came out great. I had some light oxidation and little hazing here and there. Normal amount for a whole season before compounding. The presta is not too agressive so its fine. For any heavy areas I had a long the water line I hit with 3m Super Duty first to clean it up and then followed with Presta Gel Coat and then wax. Looks great. You won't be disappointed.

You may want to skip the compound below the rubrails and use the Ultra Polish instead.
Save the compound for the specific areas of oxidation you mentioned.
Once you have it in really great shape after a few seasons, you can switch up your annual routine to using a solvent based cleaner wax instead of an abrasive polish.
Garry’s is one that comes to mind.
Lots of detailers use it as a one step product.
I’ve used it, but then follow up by layering additional coats of Carnauba Wax that doesn’t contain cleaners on top of it.
That gives you shine and protection.
BTW: Here is an example of polishing with Presta Ultra topped with Collinite 925 from last Spring:

Yeah I'm not using the compound below the rubrail. Still looks like new there. The bow is really the only place that needs compounded and most of that is anti-skid.

A gallon?? Holy smokes! I think I used a 5 or 6 ounces on the topsides of my 400. And I was probably using too much. ha. I think you've got yourself a lifetime supply!

Last time I bought it I only bought a quart and it was for our Sea Ray (which had much more hazing than this boat). Ended up buying 2 quarts and that cost almost as much as buying 1 gallon. But I ran out so figured I'd get a gallon and have it for a few years.
