WOW police counting people on boats today in Ft. Lauderdale

if you look up who has died from this, you will quickly figure out there is something else going on. it only killed really old people. there has been 1 young person die from this in the US. ONE! but we cancelled every prom, graduation, and senior year over this. that is an irrational response. Old people can die from this, but not many have. quarantine the old people, don't wreck the entire US economy. this is just weird.

look at the death stats for this. this isn't a correct response. we don't shut the world down for a cold, and most who get this have mild symptoms. and by most, i mean almost every single one.

Well, now that you brought it up....I've been waiting for you to say 'Woody is a big dick' so I could respond with 'that's what she said'.:p:p:p
LMAO, I'm busy Woody, I've got to make a run to the "American Business College"......ABC:D

Hmmm...so if each "group" has to be 6' apart, I'll put 4 in the forward berth, 6 in the salon, 4 in the aft cabin, 2 on the bow, 8 in the cockpit, and 3 at the helm. No violations here. ;) And I'll go where I want, when I want. :p

Richie like others here, I worked over 25 years protecting the lives of others....ALL others! From the very young to the very old. NEVER did I say, he is to old to risk my life for. Or she is to young and dumb to get out of what used to be a car.

That medic that comes to your aid next week when your flu has dehydrated you isn't going stop and say he is to young to risk my life over, he is going to do his job, take you to a hospital were they will do their job, and maybe even save your life. During that short trip to the ER you've now risked 3 on the medic, 2 to 4 on the engine, hospital staff, and worst of all their families.

How would you feel to know you infected a father of four that passed three weeks after your trip to the ER? Ever seen someone drown in their own mucus? I have, it's called COPD. The lungs fill making it impossible to breath, death comes from the lack of O2 in your blood.

All that because you wanted to go out to the Sandbar even tho all the States all these countries have banned large gatherings?

Comparing this to the flu or a cold is an unbelievable naive and dangerous thing to do. Do you (speaking to anyone who is saying this is overblown and will be over in a week or two) - do you REALLY think that everything that is going on around the world to prevent massive levels of death, is because of overreaction? Wow. The best medical minds in the world, and all of the politicians of all stripes in all countries are all overreacting and wrong?

This virus is not yet fully understood, but the death rate is pretty high once it overloads the health care system. That was Italy's issue. It is so widespread that their hospitals are overrun and even those that are not really old or infirm, but higher risk than average, are dying. The early deaths were the most at risk, but those are not the only ones dying.

Or maybe is it that you think that everyone over 70 with any "pre-existing conditions" like maybe diabetes, heart conditions, obesity, COPD, asthsma, are expendable? Maybe not all, just 25% of them? Any of us in any of those groups? Anyone have family members or friends in those groups? Don't care? Think about your circle around you. Which one(s) are expendable? Your mom? Your dad? Your uncle? Your best friends mom or dad? Which ones are you happy to have die so that people can continue to party? After all, the death rate is "only" 4 to 5%?

  • My son is a paramedic in Reston VA working for an ambulance service transporting critical care patients. This is not some game or ploy. It is very real especially to the medical professionals on the front lines and a lot of them are being infected with COVID 19. I pray every day for him to stay safe, but he still has to do his job. Comments like the one on Facebook are not helpful. Large gatherings like the Spring Breakers (we even had crowds on Alki Beach in Seattle) is stupidity and arrogance to the max.

Thank him, ask him to be safe

Creekwood, but statistically, not a single one of those people in your diagram would have died. the hospitals are being overrun because of the media hysteria. i'm hearing the hospitals trying to get the word out that if you get sick, you don't have to just rush to the hospital. but your comments are not helping. for almost every single person, they recover after mild to moderate symptoms. the very high risk people, however, should be much more vigilant about staying away from others, just as they do during flu season.
