I didn't want to post untill everything was settled. It's early October, Boat is on the hard waiting to be wrapped. Sitting at my desk, my cell rings, it's my boating buddy, tells me a friend of ours across creek called, said his wife looking out the window and there's a fire at the marina, she can't tell, but it looks to be close to where mine and his boat was sitting. Not good I say, he'll see what he can find out. 2 minutes later a get text from the marina, Better get down here. Jump in the truck and head that way, son's calling telling me the news copter is over the scene, definitely our boat. Get there, must be 10 or 15 fire trucks, fire is out just cleaning up. So my boat is toast, my buddies is damage pretty good. The marina workers were shrink wrapping and something caught fire. Accidents happen, time to move on. My buddies boat is over the eastern shore getting repaired. The marina owner who I have been friends with for 30+ years felt as bad as i did. Was not looking for another boat, that boat probably would have been my last. So don't need as much boat now, the Cabo, different style, easier to maintain. I'll still hang around the site, this is bar far the best and most informative site, with the best people.

Condolences to you and your family. Hope you are made whole and find exactly what you like.

Wow, unreal . I would think they got it a little hot.

Sorry for your loss. I hope you find your next dream boat soon!

So sad to see. Likely a big shock to the emotions. Hope they take care of you and that there's a silver lining in it somewhere.

I saw your post the other day about a fire in the fall and was wondering what happened. The Cabos that I have been on looked like pretty nice boats. Good luck.

I'm very sorry for your loss.... Please share with us how they accidentally set fire to your boat ?

Just terrible. So very sorry.

Not good.......sorry to see it.

Wow....sorry for your loss. Did they figure out how it started?

That's really unfortunate and I enjoyed your contributions to the 460 group, especially your floor project. Thanks and good luck.

I’m sorry for your loss.

That is hard to even look at. Sorry that it happened.

That hurts just to look at. I would rather be in your position with a total loss than your buddy's getting major fire damage repaired. I would rather start over than be chasing gremlins and bad smells for the next season or two.

We took my buddy’s to a good shop, he’s the one who salvage the Spencer that ran aground on the delivery to Puerto Rico. Took a walk thru when we dropped the boat off, amazing what he’s done. Funny thing, just the day before I took the hatch off of the trunk to fix some wood rot, it had the boat name on it. Have to find a place to display it
