I bought a hydraulic hatch lift kit for my arch.
I have had to call Bennett several times, and I have to say I am really disappointed in their customer service.
They don't have any paperwork with their kit, they only give 30' of hydraulic line for a dual acting cylinder. That only gives me 7 1/2' of hose for each line. That won't sell me the 4' I need to finish the job.
I want to buy the hose at a local hydraulic business, and they won't give me any info as far as psi needed, except what theirs is rated.
The kit was missing parts also, that's after taking 2 1/2 weeks to get it.
Had I known how poor their customer service is, I would have looked at other options.

That stinks. They used to be great. I sent an email about a question for tab actuators and it was days ( I wasn't in a rush though) before I got a response. Your local hydraulic shop may be able to test it then sell you something comparable. Mike

The biggest gripe is, they don't seen to care.

Several years ago I was talking to the Bennett folks and all was great. Recently had an issue to call them And it's a different ball game. I was told the company had changed hands. Not sure that's right or wrong but their customer service sucks

I have never done business with them before, and I will do everything in my power to make this the last time I do business with them.
They are terrible to deal with.

There used to be a CSR member (Tabman) who I believe owned Bennett (Tom Bennett???) but I think something happened to him... Perhaps someone else knows those details.

That’s too bad. I have gotten help from them in the past on a few different boats and they had been great, actually I would haves called it 5 star customer service . I always said to myself they are one of the last few companies that really puts customer service first. Sounds like that got swallowed by the big corporation mentality.

Tabman helped a lot of boaters over the years. Yes, I’m one of them. Sent me some parts for free, even though the parts needed were 25 years old.

You could find Tabman helping on Club Sea Ray as well as The Hull Truth and other boating forums.

I never needed Tom's help, but I saw plenty of times where he went above and beyond to help people.
It's not that way there anymore.

Well...that sucks.
I just bought a 19 year old 280 with Bennett’s on it.
They work now but I see what I have to look forward to.
Maybe I will just convert to electric next year.

Yes I spoke to him at length a few years back. I think he had a heart attack but was on the mend. I used to have his ph. # but I don't anymore....

He passed away a couple of years ago.

I've had several back and forth emails with Bennett the past couple of days. I need 5' of line to complete the hydraulic part. They could care less, they just keep asking, what am I doing, and how heavy is the load it's lifting.
They forgot some parts in the order, and they shipped them UPS ground. They are small parts, couldn't have been very much to ship USPS first class and get them here a little quicker, especially since it took them 10 days to ship, and another week for shipping time.
I ordered this on February 18th, and I still don't have everything I need. Frustrating to say the least!

Sad to hear about Tabman. He was absolutely awesome. A post like yours would be similar to firing up the "bat-light" to the sky and Tabman would suddenly appear (like a caped crusader) and solve the issue immediately. Obviously the new company acts more like the Joker...

The customer service used to be awesome. They even told me what o rings to get at the local hardware store because they were cheaper and I needed them quickly.
