Official 400EC thread

If you end up needing to replace the fuel lines, I recently had new ones made at a local hardware store that crimps hydraulic lines. The hardest part was finding the correct parts to use. This is what I ended up using:
Trident Barrier Lined A1-15 Fuel Hose 3/8 ID (50 ft) - https://www.fisheriessupply.com/trident-marine-series-365-barrier-a1-marine-fuel-hose-365-0386
Midland Metal - 32-105C 45 Degree Swivel - https://blackhawksupply.com/product...fittings-hose-barb-female-45-deg-flare-swivel
Midland Metal Ferrule - https://blackhawksupply.com/product...ule-clamps-hose-ferrules-smooth-hose-ferrules

Mine is a 1994 and didn’t have a single fuel line without serious dry rot. Good luck with finding the leak.

I dodged a bullet on this one. Ended up being a loose connection near the water separator.

Bored for the winter, so I am thinking about replacing/upgrading the gauges. Anyone done it? What gauges did you use?

Had some good weather today so went out on the lake. A friend took some great pictures

I did mine. I got the gauges from “Flounder Poundet” if you take a picture of your dash they can tell you exactly what you need. Very helpful. I replaced the old panels too and it made a huge difference in the appearance of my helm. The gauge replacement was tedious but not overly difficult.

Are the gauges sold as a package? Cost?

Started a project that I was putting off for no apparent reason, swapping out the accumulator tank on the fresh water system. Following another thread in here, I decided to change the small tank for a 2 gallon accumulator tank. Did some work on my garage bench to get it ready and did the swap in the boat. Went simpler than I expected.

Will post a picture of the completed install and the results when I commission the water system, hopefully sometime soon............

Be sure to set that pressure right. I forgot the formula but if you get it right you can run the water for quiet a bit before the pump cuts on.

I used the same one. I forgot to turn DOWN my pressure when I installed it and never bothered to uninstall it and recheck.

Jerry, What does that surge tank do, keep the pump from running so much when using water system? My 1994 never had anything like that. Where was your small tank located?

Jabsco pumps says.......An accumulator tank is an important part of any pressure-controlled water system. Fitted close to the pump discharge, it acts as a pressure buffer, absorbing flow from the pump when demand is low, and smoothing the outlet pressure.

In the 400EC you’ll find the accumulator tank in the water line underneath the stove top secured to a bulk head. The stovetop is simply held in place with Velcro sticky tape. Remove the drawer beneath and push the stove top up to access.

That's right I remember seeing it there. Thanks for input. Hope the project goes well.

Has anyone found a davit system that would work on a 97 400ec? I currently have a weaver snap davit that works fine, if you remove the motor. Buying a 10.4' Highfield with a 20hp outboard and would like it on a horizontal davit system that is removalbe. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I need to replace the starboard side navigation light and I figure it may be time to upgrade. Has anyone replaced/updated their navigation lights? What did you use?

I'm interested in this too. I haven't seen many davit systems on this particular boat. I hope someone has some specifics to share.

Anyone ever mount a flat screen on the starboard side wall in the front berth? Trying to get the wiring into the hanging closet in the mid cabin without surface wiring.

Update......got it installed over the weekend.

Was looking to do the same. Worried that it will get in the way getting into and out of bed. How's it working for you?

I want to buy a used Sea Ray Cockpit Table. These tables have vertically adjustable pedestal, lead weighted bases, and a fiberglass top with molded drink holders. If you have a lead on one of these please let me know.

I replaced the bulbs with LED bulbs.

I have one but the pole is not adjustable. The base is weighted and top is as described..
