My Norcold DE0061 crapped out and I have replaced it. I have the old one minus the SS door panels. Racks, door trays, bottom drawer, all of the electrical components, etc. It is completely intact at this time. Anyone wants anything, pay only shipping and it is yours.

Are the racks and door trays in good condition? Mine are shot and could use replacing.

Door trays look brand new. Refrigerator rack has a minor amount of rust that could be cleaned off and repainted with appliance paint and look new.

What did you replace it with?

Went back with the updated DE0061. Danfross compressor is much quieter. I figured that the old one lived to be over 12 years old so why not another one? If you really research marine refrigerators, it is hard to tell if there is a "best one." There have been a bunch of Norcolds installed in SR boats over the years. You never hear the good, only the bad.... Best price and it slid right into the hole with no modifications....took longer to wheel it down the dock than to install it.

Did they add a light to the update one? That’s my biggest Norcold complaint.

I'm in Rochester, NY. How much would they be?

Mine's a 2008, and it has a light. Great improvement over my 2008.

The one that died was an ‘07 original to the boat and it had a light. Yes, the new light is LED and is brighter. The thing is amazingly quiet. The freezer door seal does not fit well, but they are notorious for that. I added another 3/8” of seal and it works perfect now. Refrigerator is staying 33-34* and the freezer 16-18* on the “3” of 5 setting.

That’s good to know. When the time comes to replace it at least I’ll get a light out of the deal.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that mine will keep going a little longer.
I think having the flat panel TV mounted on a swivel above it instead of the old tube TV increases air flow back there a little and may be extending the life a bit.
The heat generated by the old TV’s probably wasn’t helping the fridges either.
Then again, that might just be wishful thinking.

At least your 2007 had a light. The 2002 Norcolds are still living in the dark ages.

The ones that last seem to last. My cockpit Norcold is original (2007) to the boat and you would think it would have died due to being exposed to the worst swings in climate. Hot most of the week, really hot when we're out on the water in the sun, etc.

The one in the cabin galley died first (2017) and it took two replacement Norcolds to get a working unit. So when they don't last, they don't last..

Why not just use a nice small fridge (3.1) from home depot?
You can always put on a transformer or whatever??
